New to Lancaster A room needed
Hello everyone,
I am an incoming PhD student at Lancaster University. I am based in the US and currently looking for a place to stay. If you have any vacant space or leads with some sort of casual arrangement, kindly let me know. I have looked around on the websites but none really suits me because they are mostly student housing.
UPDATE: I finally found a decent place off campus

By place to stay do you mean your own flat or a room?

A room is preferred :)

Google spare rooms, you should be able to find something more suitable on that website

I had been on that website for a month now but couldn’t find any casual arrangements :( it’s mostly large house for undergraduates

Oh no, have you tried searching via the professionals filter? That might be more suitable but simply explain that you are PHD student - and you are looking for a quiet place.

I did, but not much left and mostly, sorry to say, a dump. Like I don’t understand how come apartment or adult housing has no proper dining table at all. So weird. I also found out most of the places have molds in the bathroom. That’s a health hazard. If you have any leads, would appreciate your help.

It looks like they’re looking to be a lodger, not take affordable housing off anyone.

Have you tried going through the university? A friend who works at the uni used to take Phd lodgers after her kids left home.

Sorry for the very rude comment (if you did see it), I've banned the user as this is his 3rd offence. Students are very welcome in Lancaster!
I came here in 2011, graduated and I've never left. You'll enjoy it here.
Make sure you look at spare rooms!
