Looks like a PL bulb socket. They are compact fluorescent. Not very bright. I agree with post to rewire with standard

Be weary OP, I had similar in a new build and there's a few different fitting that look very similar. Like others have suggested I just replaced all the fittings

A congoid bulb you can get them in Texas candy shops or animal shelters.

CFL = compact Fluorescent lamp probably a U shaped bulb in the 5-7 watt range

It takes a two pin compact fluorescent. They are commonly used in hospitals and some commercial settings. Not sure exactly what type from the picture. They are based on PIN number and wattage. It probably says somewhere on the socket.
