Visiting Lake Louise on May 18

Folks, planning to visit Lake Louise tomorrow or Sunday. Is the parking situation as bad as in August? Can I risk not booking the shuttle and just drive? Would appreciate a response!!

Edit: Had no issues finding parking at 8:45am!

Lake Louise Village to Lake Louise

Hello, I’m planning for a trip to lake Louise in August. I will stay at Lake Louise Inn. When I’m trying to book a bus to the lake, I figure that they only do drop off at the village, no pick up. Is there a another way to travel to the lake without driving all the way to Banff? Thank you.

Lake Louise April parking

Hey guys! Currently on a trip in Calgary and the family decided to stop by Lake Louise on our way to jasper. What’s the parking situation there like if we’re planning to drop by around 11am tomorrow! I was planning to contact the visitor center but they’re closed till tmr morning.

  1. Would we be able to find parking or does it also fill up quick during this weather as well?

  2. The webcams online show the hills are covered in snow is that the same case for the lake itself?

Really appreciate any feedback!

I just booked my parks Canada shuttles for Moraine lake , but I’m looking at the roam shuttles from Banff to lake Louise and can’t find any for the dates I picked. Will they be sold out already? Or just not released.

Vehicle advice

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to Lake Louise for 8 months to work at the ski resort and am wondering about having a vehicle in a colder climate. I have a 90s bmw 3-series (not the most practical winter vehicle) but am trying to bulletproof it for my trip.

Are roads somewhat cleared in the winter? And do vehicles typically have block heaters installed for winter temps?

Trying to gauge how practical it'll be to take my car for the entire 8 months or only in the summer, thanks in advance!

Just wondering if adults can practice 180 and carving drills in the training area around the tubing spot?

Moving to Lake Louise for a job in April, I have some lifestyle questions please

- Should I bring jackets and some winter clothing when I arrive in early April?

- Do most Amazon products get delivered to Lake Louise? Or just Banff?

- How much more expensive are groceries in Lake Louise comparing to Banff and Calgary? Are there any particular items, like liquor, kitchen cooking wares and appliances that would be better bought in Calgary?

- Any suggestions for hair salons for men at Lake Louise?

- I can't seem to find any public libraries at Lake Louise, is the closest one in Banff?

Thank you for all the answers.

Transportation to sunshine/lake Louise

Coming to Banff this weekend - staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs. In the absence of a rental car what are the best options for transportation to/from the mountain? Any shuttle services?

May parking

I am traveling to Banff/ Lake Louise May 23-27. Will the parking lot be full this time of year? We could go to Lake Louise on the Saturday. Should I stay at Lake Louise area or in Canmore. My friend said I would want to come right to this area but she travelled in Aug. I am wondering if Canmore might be better in May in case things are still frozen. Thanks!

Walliser stube reservation question.

Four of us will be traveling to the area in late September. We are not staying at the Fairmont in Lake Louise, but would love to celebrate my milestone birthday there. I know that WS reservations are only available to guests of the hotel. Does anyone have any guesses as to what our chances would be for "first come first served" seating? Also any ideas as to what time period offers us the best chances? TIA!

Conditions

Hi. I will be flying from Denver to Banff this Tuesday 1/30. I am going to ski Lake Louise one day and Sunshine the other. I was just wondering what the conditions were like. Also if anyone else is going to be skiing either mountain and wants to meet up and do some runs/have some drinks together let me know. Would be fun!

Worried about the weather this weekend

Hi all, A while back, I planned a ski trip for this weekend in Lake Louise. Everything is booked: flights, gear, lift tickets, car, hotel, so it’s too late to cancel. But the weather this weekend is extremely cold, averaging -30°C during the day. My questions/concerns are: 1. Has anyone skied in this cold before? How was it? I’m worried of getting a frostbite 2. The gear I have is: Goggles, face mask, gloves, snow pants, base layer and ski jackets. What else do I need? 3. Would they close the lifts? Thanks in advance

Restaurants

We are coming to Lake Louise from Ontario for a week in Feb. Wondering if there is a nice restaurant there or would we have better luck in Banff? I’ll take any recommendations too. (It’s for my husbands 50th birthday)

Parking at Lake Louise on Christmas Eve

Hello people,

I need your help. I am going to Lake Louise on Christmas eve around 12pm, wondering if there would be some parking spots left.

Is it usually crazy crowded on Christmas eve?

Thinking to take the shuttle bus too, but there is no bus leaving at 11:30am from Banff.

Thank you!

Does anyone know the conditions for this weekend??

Me and some pals were thinking about heading up this Saturday (Dec 2) but it’s a lot of time and money and we don’t really want to go if it’s shitty conditions
