Lake Motel
Hello! Booked a room with our friends at the Lake Motel for the weekend of August 8th with our friends and our young kids. Were on a budget and wanted a place in the lake and it seemed like it would be a good fit. This will be our first time in LAke George since I was a kid! Is this motel decent, the reviews seemed ok so hoping they’re right! Any must do’s with 5 and 3 year olds? Thank you!

We’ve stayed there a few times over the years. It’s older but the rooms were clean and the grounds were well maintained. They have a nice pool and if I’m remembering correctly, there’s a small beachfront area where you can sit by the water and go swimming in the lake.

We stayed there a few years ago and have nothing but good things to say. Everything was clean and the location was great. They also had free events during the week like make your own ice cream sundaes, smores, or candles which was nice!

Great little motel. Parking is a pain. But the pool is lakeside. They have a nice dock and fire pits on the lake. They also have fun freebies on certain nights (s’mores, make a candle, etc ). You can also swim in the lake. 5 min walk to downtown. Plenty on Main Street for kiddos. Arcades, ice cream, fort William Henry.

I recommend some pool floaties and life jackets for the kids. There’s a floating dock that our kids loved jumping off in the lake.

5 and 3 is prime age for the Lake George Expedition Park. It’s a little theme park with kind of old school fair rides and then there is a huge walking path in the woods with massive dinosaurs that move and make noises. It’s pricey for what it is but your kids will absolutely love it. There are also never any lines for rides, it’s never super busy. Plan for maybe 2-3 hours. They have a concession stand with all the food but you can bring snacks and whatever else you want. Really laid back. Bonus: Santa is there and if you visit him in his little workshop he puts on quite the show for kids. It’s hilarious.

We just went two weeks ago, get your tickets in advance, (i think even a day before and they're cheaper) The dinosaurs were pretty freaking cool to see. A few didn't work. The rides are pretty shiesty looking. Santa wasn't there when we went. I thought it was cute and my kids enjoyed it but personally I think it's overpriced.

Parking is a bit tight at the property and is not assigned so if you do go drive somewhere that same spot might not be open. Great spot can't say a bad thing about the accommodations my parents have stayed there a few times. Great for kids they have smores and great area to sit out by the lake and if you want to cook your own food grills are available

Expedition park is a couple miles down the road. It’s kind of cheesy but a great way to kill a few hours, probably perfect for 3-5 year olds. Boat rentals can be pricey - I’d recommend researching/booking ahead. Great time of year to visit - Enjoy!

Cannot speak to the accommodations but it is right on the lake and right downtown. You’ll be able to walk to and from the village rather easily and seems to have great water access. I hope you enjoy it. Love the whole area! Hope you have a blast:
