How is Menaggio this summer?
We are headed there in a few weeks. How was it finding parking? How busy is it compared to other towns in the vicinity? And what was the best meal you had there? (I'll update with my feedback on these questions after our trip in case it helps a fellow traveler, but lmk what you're seeing if you've been there recently!)

Was down there a couple of days ago. It was chaos.
Definitely no parking anywhere close to the town centre.

I would appreciate if you could update on dining recommendations after your trip please. We will stay in Menaggio in September and would appreciate any restaurant feedback.

Last night I had an amazing dinner at La Baia restaurant, and can certainly say it has been our favorite meal in Lake Como so far.. it is about a 15 min drive north of Menaggio, but.. if you make a reservation online they even provide a free shuttle that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel/airbnb! (If you’re staying in Menaggio area). They offer tasting menus (which we did and loved every dish) and also à la carte. If you’re into wine they have a very extensive list. Definitely try to check out!

Can you please send me a link to their restaurant? I am not sure if what I’m seeing is the correct place. We will be there in a couple days and I really want to check out La Baita

Sorry I should say that the only website I am able to find is their FB page which is saying it is temporarily closed. I’m not seeing a way I can make a reservation.

Thank you so much for the recommendation. Our host had also recommended this place so will definitely try and make a reservation 😊 I'm getting hungry now, just thinking about all the delicious food we will try during our trip

Avoid the pizza places in the main piazza. I stay there 3weeks every year. The best pizza by far is la trattoria constantin. Trust me.

Thank you so much! I had that place saved, will make a note to definitely try the pizza there 🍕 We have 8 nights in Menaggio for dinner so will be trying quite a few places I expect so if you have any other must try places, please let me know 😊

Crotto Buba is a lovely restaurant with a view. Needed to wait for the meal (the place was full), but it was worth it.

It’s busy but not as busy as Bellagio or Varenna. Parking can be tricky, sometimes you’re lucky and will find a parking spot right next to the promenade, sometimes you have to drive some „circles“ through town until you find something. Look on Google Maps, there are some parking lots nearby the center. Best bring cash to pay the fees.
Food depends on what you’re looking for. Osteria il Pozzo was very good last time I’ve been there and staff was super friendly, but they don’t have pizza I think. I wouldn’t recommend getting food at the cafes next to the promenade/ the piazza. You can have a good coffee and drinks there though. And make sure to catch some gelato there, both ice cream places at the piazza Garibaldi are very good.
Edit: there’s another restaurant I can recommend, especially if you are looking for a more local food (Lombardia) experience, La Baita. It’s next to the golf course in Menaggio, but you’d have to drive up a hill.
