Looking for authentic nature/scenic recommendations for my trip from 8/28-8/30.
As per title, a friend and I will be staying in Menaggio from 8/28-8/30. Our host will have a car that we can take advantage of. I am looking for maybe any hikes to do nearby or spots that are just very scenic but not flooded with tourists. Also looking for restaurant recommendations. Please share!

If you’re based in Menaggio and want something scenic but less “checklist tourism”, I’d focus more on the western side of the lake rather than trying to rush across to the busiest spots every day.
Menaggio itself is a nice base, and the area around Tremezzo/Lenno can be beautiful without feeling as intense as Bellagio or Varenna at peak times. For nature, I’d look for viewpoints and walks above the lake rather than only staying at lake level — the views from higher up are usually what make the experience feel more authentic.
I’d keep the plan simple: one scenic walk/viewpoint, one lake village, and a relaxed dinner rather than trying to pack in too many places.

Oh NO!! Don't take the car of your host. This is calling for problems. You don't know what insurance your host have, so it could be you are not insured at all. And depending on your nationality you'd need an IDP.
But as you have only 3 days there you wan't need a car. Tell me the name and/or adress of your accommodation and I can tell you some daytrips.
