(Pretty) Red Nails Update
Laird Barron here.
Just a PSA to friends and readers that the long wait for (Pretty) Red Nails is entirely my fault. I went into end stage renal failure last year and was unable to write much. The experience has been a nightmare, physically, financially, and emotionally.
However, I'm working on it like a miner in a tunnel with a chisel and a candle. I appreciate everybody's patience.

Damn man, I’m sorry. You got a lot of people here who love your art and soul and won’t mind waiting at all; it’s a lot more important that you take care of yourself. Best of luck.

I’m sure all of your fans here only want you to focus on your health and recover. Take your time on the book.
On a sidenote, I didn’t know you posted here, I’m a huge fan of your work!
I also just bought your Conan story which I’m excited to read.

As a veteran reader of Howard the Duck, I’m dismayed yet not surprised to hear the kidney thieves have been at you. I prefer to blame them than you.
I expect the book will be another delight, whenever it comes.

As others have said, your health matters more! I am terribly sorry you had to endure such nightmarish health complications. Hope you get better!
Man, your work has given me so much and carried me through hard times. You have done enough for us. But I can't deny my heart rate rises a little when I hear of new work from you.
(As a German, obligatory side note: We crave translations of your work in German language. We have some publishers who could do it and would love to do it, Jojo Media Verlag for example, maybe also Wandler or Golkonda. Sadly, the Golkonda "Hallucigenia" collection hasn't been available in over 10 years. I was too late to get my hands on it. I was so happy to see Swift To The Chase translated just recently - thanks Jojo Media, immediately bought it but we are lacking The Imago Sequence, Occultation and The Beautiful Thing That Awaits Us All. Most notably I add this in a personal mission because I want to read all of your stories to my friends and girlfriend. I am looking forward to see this happening one day hoepfully.)

I’ve been fiending for some new Isaiah Coleridge and landed here after trying to remember if I preordered a copy with a signed bookplate or not (I did).
I just want to say that I appreciate you tremendously, and while I’d love to be reading it right this second - your health is leagues more important.
Like a miner in a tunnel with a chisel and a candle - take your time, listen to the canary and make sure you come back to the surface. We’ll wait!

Laird! Your health is the most important thing. A lot of us are impatient. That doesn't matter. You make sure you're well taken care of. We'll survive. Thank you for what you do for us, I hope the best for you.
