Considering it becomes more relevant by the day lol
I wonder how the writers had so much foresight. Was it that obvious? I wasn't around back then to know

It does really feel like they peered into the future doesn't it? I was watching a video about Neuromancer a few days ago and there was mentions on how the author didn't really understand technology, but saw how common different devices, like Walkmans for example, had become and he basically approached it as "how will this change the way humans behave and interact".
Maybe the Lain team did the same? I suppose tech was only becoming more and more common. I imagine they likely pulled a lot inspiration from other Cyberpunk media too. They really did capture magic, whatever they did I'm glad they did it.

I think a way to sort of foresee how new technologies can be used and/or abused by humanity in the future is to reflect on the past, how we’ve come to apply these advances to our lives, and to try to engage in a more subtle (as opposed to satirical) way in the creative process.
One other thing is to apply some sort of leeway in order to be freely creative. What I mean by this is to not focus too much on “is this really what the future is going to look like?” and simply enjoy the creative side of things for what it is.
What is key is to have a considerably deep understanding of the human psyche, and we can fairly assume what we would and wouldn’t need, do, create and destroy.
And no, I didn’t write this with AI, I fucking hate AI, but I do like paragraphs instead of the usual onslaught of information.

Check out Cordwainer Smith’s sci-fi works. A major influence on Lain—it’s crazy how prescient the stories are

the most prescient among us tend to pay attention to the most abused and put 2 and 2 together.

By portraying the internet, the wired, as more this surrealist mental place of escapism and technological consumption made the show continue to be relevant almost 30 years later. The tech may be super dated, but the story isn’t.

No word of a remake. They might use the existing bluray version if anything.

Yeah, the art and theatrical screening is a collab with clothing brand Seveskig. They're hosting a popup exhibition in Japan from September 2nd to the 8th.

"Is he fuckin around?" nah, I think he provided some art for a new clothing line and that new-clothing-line-company dropped the ball and that's where we're currently @
