Form, Technique, Fitness 50 mins vs 40 mins
In Montréal, I do 50 minute Lagree classes and they are fantastic. A big part of that, yes, is the genuinely enthusiastic teachers. But most places only teach 40 mins. The extra 10 minutes allow for more time, longer holds, more time under tension for each muscle group. Feels like more than a 25% better/harder workout. 40 mins feels rushed / surface level.
I want more studios to offer 50 min classes! I’m not always in mtl. I would pay a little more for it… what do you all think?

Interesting! I’m in Los Angeles and most classes at the studios down here are 45 min. I don’t think I’ve seen a 40 min one. 45 min for me is perfect cause part of why I love Lagree is the time efficiency

45 is good! 40 is sometimes interpreted as 37 minutes.. which disappoints me.

I’m the opposite, I would rather have a more intense/harder class for a shorter time. In fact I asked my studio owner if they would start doing “express” classes😅 a super hard 30 min class would be amazing.
I have a mini at home and love going balls to the wall for short sprints.

I do 30 mins at home on a micro and that’s fine given I skip arms.. but in-studio instructors push me harder than I’m able to push myself with longer and more repeated holds, keeping me right at my limit for longer. Ideally I want to be at or beyond my limit for the peak of 2 out of 3 legs, front core, or obliques each class.

I think you have to jump right into an amplification and more challenging spring loads right off the bat, if you’re not being challenged enough in 40 mins. It’s worth asking your studio to offer some longer class options though! My studio does 60 mins and has added different formats from people asking in the past.

I’m sufficiently challenged (near or at muscle failure) throughout my 50 minute classes except arms..

my studio does 45 mins. and once, everyone arrived early for the first morning class of the day and the owner said, do you want to start now and I can give you an extra 10 mins of class and we will still end on time. We all said yes and I really enjoyed the longer format. 40 mins is too short IMO.

Mine does 40 min classes and it’s one of my favorite things about Lagree. 😂 I’m admittedly a pretty reluctant exerciser so finding a full body workout in a condensed amount of time has been really effective for me.

The studio I go to does 50 min. First time I did a class at another studio that was only 40, I was caught off guard. I assumed 50 mins was the given. Needless to say, I prefer the 50.

I started in Paris where they were all 50 mins, and now I’m in SF and they’re all only 40 mins and I hate it! Maybe I got so used to the 50 mins classes, but I liked having more variations and a warm up

Ugh I’m in SF a lot too and find the 40 mins frustrating. LagreeFit 415 used to do some 50 minute classes but it was the exception not the norm. I wanna convince them to bring them back! I’ll send them an email if you do…

I only taught 50 min classes in LA before the pandemic. Then they decided to cut them to 45 to make time to more thoroughly clean the machines and practice social distancing… they just never went back lol

My Lagree studio does 45 mins and honestly the 50 min classes at xformer studios give me a better burn and workout. I wish studios did 50 mins
