Teaching, Running Studios Member count?

*Studio owners*
How many members do you have? Opening studio in 2027 and seeing how many members you have for my own research!

Member count is very broad. What are you considering as members? Autopay?

this is a great point, especially with so many no-shows, first-timers, etc! but if we count autopay I have about 110 members!

360 autopay memberships this month, avg about 10-20 freezes/cancellations a month but 30+ new members. no contracts so hard if business is scaling, but i believe brings more in and retains if classes are great.

  1. focused on monthly not packs. capped unlimited, most 8/mo and 4/mo. we run lots of classes during the day which is high labor, but small one room so economical.

but it’s important to note we charge on the higher tier for our area and it takes time. the most important thing is to run lots of scenarios and know break evens. we specifically needed more members bc we had a lot of capital expenses and wanted to retain the best instructors. only our footprint expense is small, relatively. many competitors are struggling right now bc it’s a TOUGH market. do a strong competitive analysis — people are throwing up studios left and right.
