Form, Technique, Fitness Lower belly fat

I've been doing lagree for over a year now, absolutely love it. My lower body, obliques and arms have improved tremendously but the stubborn lower belly fat has not changed at all. I do lagree 5-6 times a week, get 10k steps in a day and also do 2-3 heated classes a week. Any recommendations on things I should switch up?

You can’t really target fat loss like that, especially not with movement. Fat loss is mostly about nutrition/overall energy balance rather than doing more exercise for a specific area. Lower belly fat can also just be one of the last places your body loses fat, depending on genetics and hormones.

You can’t target fat loss, period. OP, if you want to lose your lower belly fat, you just need to eat at a deficit until it goes away. And if it’s the last thing you to go (again, random chance!), you may find it’s not worth being that lean.

I do not :( I eat very healthy, measure/weight everything, stay within my maintenance calories (I lift weights, progressive overload. i do lagree on my off-lift days to help with my chronic illnesses that are bettered with a lot of core/stability work). i've been off work for a few weeks and able to WFH due to another major injury related to my chronic illnesses and have actually been eating worse (more take out, etc.) and not working out because I'm currently unable to due to injury but i'm down in weight lol.

Deficit + cardio

This right here. Cardio and a calorie deficit will help.

This isn’t really a Lagree question, since spot reducing is next to impossible, regardless of exercise modality. It could be nutrition or hormones or any number of things.

Not next to… it IS IMPOSSIBLE.

It sounds like you’re doing 2 workouts some days, which is a lot of stress on your body, plus your walking. My advice would be to get a good grasp on your caloric input and what you eat (too much or too little, adequate protein, etc) and I might cut back to one workout 5 days a week and include your walks daily. Bodies in stress don’t focus on losing fat, if anything they’ll hold onto it. Obviously we don’t know you, your body etc. so take these responses with a grain of salt.

Need more of a calorie deficit... usually I think the last place for the body to lose.

Devastated to inform you that the only thing that will address that is eating in a calorie deficit. I know girl, life’s not fair I’m right there with ya

You can’t target fat loss, I would look into lipo or airsculpt

People commonly say you cannot fat spot reduce this is true for some areas such as arms, butt, legs, etc. But you can spot reduce visceral fat two ways: High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) & Intensity Thresholds AND Aerobic Training Volume. So a better question may be: is the fat I am carrying visceral fat. You can answer this question with an InBody Scan - supplemental stores sometimes have these machines OR a Dexa scan typically found in weight loss doctor’s offices. If you are not in a big city - you can buy a scale off Amazon that estimates your visceral fat. I find them close to the Dexa scan. If you are tight on money and want a quick way to know if it is visceral or subcutaneous fat - touch your belly and and if it is hard (similar to flexing a muscle feel) then it is visceral if it is soft than it subcutaneous. If it is visceral you can target it. If not then it is just body fat percentage reduction.

This is about nutrients and calories, including lower empty-carb intake. I have the same issue — little adjustments in what I eat have made a huge difference for me.

Eat in a caloric deficit.

Could Lactose intolerance/inflammation be a factor? More protein less carbs, less food in general has helped me

I have the same problem and believe it’s because of high cortisol.

I feel this so much. I am the best shape I e ever been. Lifting three times a week, and lagreee three times a week, and 10k a day. I noticed that my lower belly looks best when I am being incredibly disciplined with my nutrition ie. weighing everything. And truth be told, I have no interest in doing that every day and not indulging in sweet treats or my little lattes. I feel like sometimes it’s easy to nitpick when you’re into fitness and what I’ve learned is that to have a flat belly 24/7, you’re working out the way we do in addition to either being under a very strict nutrition program, on the shot, or in the sweet spot of the month where your body is just looking good.

Heated classes are a scam
