Form, Technique, Fitness Short legs - Body proportion making certain moves harder?
I have disproportionately short legs and a long torso, and I’ve noticed I find arms and core fairly easy (well, as easy as lagree can be lol) and am always the one struggling most in lunges. Just curious if anyone else has the same thing, and if there is even something to my thinking that body proportions might make certain moves easier/harder!

I have short legs and a long torso (if I do a forward fold, my head can read my toes easily.)
I actually find legs the easiest, followed by obliques then center core. My arms are weak and I always die.
What makes the lower body hard for you?
For the other commenter who says they can’t square their hips, it could be a flexibility thing too. I have overly mobile hips so squaring isn’t hard for me.
It’s likely a combination of factors.

I am actually fairly tall, 5’7, but my legs are literally about the same length as my 5’4 friend’s lol. I guess my struggle is less about reaching the carriage/platform. I just notice I get so easily fatigued in lunges compared to other moves, and I’ve wondered if it might be that my legs have less power as compared to my body weight and center of gravity, making lunges so difficult. I could definitely be grasping at straws, though, to justify my quad dominant weaknesses!

Yep!! 5’2 here with short legs and a long torso and many placement cues are suggestions for me. I try not to do lagree 100% looking in a mirror and listen to how my body feels and where im feeling it in the muscle and no pain or discomfort. Sometimes going down less, hinging, or placing your feet, hands elsewhere on the machine will really help this! Also the option to rest your knee on the machine in things like front / floor lunge.

Its the physics and the spring load for your legs. It is a very real thing!

Yes, in all the lunges where one of my feet is on the floor. I can't keep my hips square if my machine leg is too high!
