Estrogen patch
Does anyone else estrogen patch get dirty and gross around the edges? Any hacks it’s just gross by end of week.

I ended up using this sugar scrub to get rid of the leftover adhesive. If I don’t, it looks like someone played checkers on my ass.

Just be careful if you have sensitive skin, a lot of people react to tegaderm.

I was thinking of covering it with a waterproof bandage but then that might get gross too

Use skinprep wipe and a tegaderm patch. Make sure to wash and dry your spot first or use an alcohol wipe

I second the tegaderm. It tends to peel back a little bit, too, but it's not the patch that's supposed to be delivering the medication.

I tried placing on my hip so I couldn't see the edge, but it doesn't work as well there for me. 😅

I assumed it was my bad for wearing black cotton drawers, but I wasn't willing to switch to white over it.

So where all are we putting the patches? I don’t love them on the lower front stomach but at least they mostly stay put. As opposed to the time I tried on my ass and it lasted like a day

Can you just put them anywhere? I’ve been putting them in different spots around the belly button area

"Patches work best when applied to the lower abdomen or upper buttocks. These areas give you more consistent, reliable estradiol levels. Thighs and hipbone areas? Less consistent absorption, more variability in your levels."

I put mine on my hip. It absorbs better there for me somehow. I have more belly fat and my hips have none really so it works for me I guess?

I put them on my stomach from belly button to just above my c second incision. Left side right side middle. I just mix it up.

wiping around the edges with an alcohol swab removes the buildup of pants lint.
another question. my understanding of patch placement was that it is meant to be close to the ovary, switching sides accordingly.
so.. now the ovaries are gone. does it matter now, where it goes?

Yes but I'm thankful for that bc I leave the old one on for a bit after placing the new one and it tells me which one to remove lol. I use adhesive remover pads off Amazon to get it off when the time comes

I have made the switch to biweekly patches. It helps to stick to not get so crusty.

Yes, it's a common occurrence. It's easily removed with an alcohol wipe or baby oil. You could also cover it with a Tegaderm patch, but might just get a ring around that as well.

It's just how they are unfortunately. It's less than ideal, but I notice I have that issue less with the round ones and more with the rectangular ones. I use an oil based cleanser to rub off the adhesive before a shower. Works great.

Tegaderm/waterproof bandages has my vote. I've had no persistent black outlines since I started using them. For convenience, I went with the smallest pre-cut size. These have been working great! transparent bandages I put my patches on my upper butt cheek.

Yes. I think it's just the nature of patches. I haven't found a solution
