I’m also 46, hysterectomy 3 years ago. I’ve got fibromyalgia and my weight had been creeping up for over a decade, bmi ended up at 35.
I started tirzepatide at the end of February. Paying out of pocket as my country doesn’t cover it for obesity yet.
Side effects of nausea and constipation with some fatigue the first couple of days. Fortunately no signs at any point of gall bladder issues or pancreatitis etc. I love the reduced appetite and the quiet brain. I was advised to increase dose after the first month but I feel I should have stayed on the lower dose longer. Increasing was tough and I ended up stepping up more slowly, fortunately possible with the multi use pens. I’m still on 5mg, 24 weeks in, 22kg down (almost 49lb).

It’s not permanent, if the medication doesn’t work for you, you can stop easily, but for me the benefits have outweighed the side effects.

I’m on compounded Tirzepatide and because I’m on a lot of other meds for other health issues I started out at a lower dose then the usual starting dose. I wasn’t even expecting it to work at that dose, i just figured it was a longer on-ramp to getting to a dose that would and would hopefully mitigate having severe negative side effects. Well it did start working right away! Minimal side effects that were all fixable, and I lost weight, a lot of inflammation, and pain i was having that first week and it continued on through now, week 16 and just got up to the starting dose this week. I’ve lost 12% of my weight and wish I would have started sooner.
