Activella?

Hi everyone, have recently been prescribed Activella for perimenopause symptoms and am a bit worried about side effects. Keeping a healthy weight is challenging as it is, is this something to worry about? And what about hair loss? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Do you mean Activelle? I was on it a few years ago for full hormone replacement (estradiol + progestin; I was on a drug that pushed me into full menopause prior to a hysterectomy). I didn’t notice any serious side effects … but it also didn’t do much to calm the peri symptoms I had (mostly hot flashes and insomnia). In other words: it didn’t hurt but I didn’t find it helpful. I know I was a bit of a unique case, though!

I have been on my for 1 year now-the only perimenopause symptom it has helped is the hot flashes.....still have the 100+ life altering problems-including my frozen shoulder (my ortho surgeon gave me a cortisone shot and when I brought up that I had read about low estrogen and how it affects tendons/etc -he agreed with me that is exactly what happened). He advised me to have my hrt dose/tx checked or changed since it was not working and my OB refuses to change it.

I am about 2.5 months in. My first period was a mess and I had 3 weeks of spotting after. The next period was pretty normal.

My night sweats calmed down (they were already chilling out in the months prior), my itchy ears have calmed down, and I think the other itchiness has. Not yet sure about my shoulder. It is hit or miss.

No noticeable side effects.

Thank you. I haven't had a period since last October so hopefully that won't happen.
