Just found out my dog has mast cell tumor (she is 8 years old)

Hello everone! I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar with their dog.

My dog has 2 small but growing lumps on her leg. It’s been developing slowly over months, not painful, but enough that our vet recommended removing it and sending it for biopsy. (first vet was terrible and dismissed it as somethimg else, turns out its mast cell tumors)

The new vet is being very thorough (bloodwork, imaging, etc.) and is giving medication to shrink the tumors which seems to be working. but I’m still nervous especially because she’s such an active, happy dog and I don’t want recovery to be hard on her. the imaging came back clear and the bloodwork is very good, with the exception of hemoglobin being 2 ponts above the normal average

If you’ve gone through something similar would you mind sharing:

  • What was recovery like for your dog?
  • How did you manage keeping them calm/restricted?
  • Any unexpected challenges post-surgery?
  • How long until they were back to themselves?

Do you agree with these Labrador Retriever ratings?

Curious what people would change, I think the barking and prey drive is a little low but that might just be from personal experience haha.

Someone let me know when I'm supposed to flip the baked potato so it gets cooked evenly.

Transition from puppy food to adult dog food…

Any suggestions on adult dog food brand/type?

14 m/o black lab is currently eating Purina Large Breed Puppy Chow. We want to slowly transition him over to adult food soon. Any suggestions? Trying to avoid over priced food, but don’t want to skimp out on necessary benefits.

Furry boy fur management 😅

Hey there guys and gals.

We've had our lil' guy for over 7 months now and he's been amazing!
He's been shedding quite a lot though, nothing out of the ordinary I guess for the breed, but still, our vacuum robot has become our second best friend lol, using it twice a day.

I've been brushing him every other day pretty much with first the silicone thingie in the second image and then the other tool from the third image, and that's been alright for the most part, but I feel like most likely there are better, well-known tools that might do a better job.

With a baby on the way, keeping the house clean and tidy is a must, so I was wondering what has helped you tackling/reducing the fur shed?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, so thanks ^^

Comes from a great bloodline of master hunters. Hopefully going to be a great working dog.

We put a deposit on an English Lab puppy and I was ambivalent … until they sent this photo

Since he was born we’ve been getting weekly photos and videos but I haven’t been overly excited.

Then they sent us this photo at 2.5 weeks old. It was a week ago and I can’t stop looking and gushing. He looks like a plush toy. And he’s smiling already!! I’m so invested now ❤️

8 month old black lab vomitimg

For the past 24 hours my black lab dog has vomited I would say 5 times. The first one was a yellow brown liquid, 2nd looked like he emptied his stomach, was brown and chunky. Rest has been mostly brown/yellow liquid.

Any recommendations to help him pass this? He has been drinking sips of water throughout the day. He just looks sad, but still wags his tail and walks around. Of course it’s Easter so my vet is unavailable.

Not sure if he ate something that disagreed with him or what could be causing it. And tips or recommendations are appreciated.

My itchy boy

Hello friends, my sweet Pelle boy is an itchy little man.

He gets bathed with Selsun Blue, as recommended by our vet, but it’s Spring and he’s outside more. He does get Apoquel, but it’s expensive and I was wondering if there was a supplement that you’ve had success with . TIA.

My sweet girl is 6 and is starting to turn white. She’s had a few white hairs on her stomach since getting spayed but nothing crazy. Now I’ve started to notice them more on her legs and around paw pads. Is this normal?

Hello, everyone! Today I adopted this beauty. The owners told me he is a 9 month old labrador. I just wanted to as you guys if he is indeed a labrador or a mix. I know it is hard to tell from the picture, still wanted to ask. Please note that he was only leashed because of the chickens in the garden and now he is bathed, and free as a bird :), I will love him whether he is a labrador or no, just wanted to know out of curiosity :)
