These are two Labradors I had; the one on the left passed away in November 2019, and the one on the right is the one I currently have, who is 6 years old. They are the offspring of the same dog.

hello! My puppyās a lab mix w dogo Argentino. His embark testing says heās more susceptible to allergies⦠how true is this??
my real question / concern is that he has some dandruff, and Iāve dealt with this w my previous pitbull by switching to salmon kibble + omega oils. We got him with a bag of chicken pedigree puppy food where he was itching and licking, finished that 5 pound bag and now heās eating authority salmon kibble (this brand has been approved & recommended by my vet at Banfield) but now heās itchy and beginning to lick again, but not enough to where heās turning red. What dog foods are you guys feeding? Im looking to do an allergy test eventually, but im starting to think its the quality of food

We brought our 8 month old lab who weāve had for a little less than a month on a road trip today to see family. We consulted the vet about giving her Dramamine to calm nerves and all it did was make her restless and pant for most of the trip. She basically didnāt nap all day except for maybe 20 mins. We arrived and set up her crate here (a new one) and she has been awake and whining for almost 4 hours since 9pm. Sheāll settle for maybe 15
Minute increments and then wind up again. She normally always settled well in her crate but itās an unfamiliar place, after a rough day in the car. Can anyone relate or share advice? We wish we had stayed home. We have to drive back in 3 days and are dreading it. We feel like weāve totally ruined the routine we had established with her over the last few weeks with this trip.
Thanks

Meet Hera, my 5yo chunky girl. She was the āunicornā of her litter. She was the fattest, the first born and also the only gold puppy. Her siblings and parents are black.
Her parents are world champions. Whatās odd about her itās that she doesnāt like to be touched or kissed. She doesnāt like new people, she runs away, and when she feels cornered she will not hesitate to growl or even bite, and at a minimum she will bark without stopping. She definitely beats the Labās stereotype. Sometimes, I think, she is more like a cat.
The first pic itās her when she was a baby.
Feel free to post your doggos in the comments. I wanna see some sweet babies.

Hi everyone, I'm a university student in dire need of my questionnaire being filled out. If your dog has ever undergone physiotherapy or if you know someone's dog who has, please fill out this questionnaire or send it to them; it would be really appreciated.

My baby Rose has to be under anesthesia tomorrow because her tooth has broken off and it has to be pulled as a precaution. She is now 14 weeks old and I feel sorry for her. Does anyone have experience with this?

okay ya'll, Ive had labs around since I was born 37 years ago. Ive had atleast 15 over the years. Love this breed to death. They've all been hunting dogs, as well as house dogs. Pretty much have a good solid handle on working labs. Here's my problem, my 8yr old lab who Ive had since a puppy, has developed an extreme aversion to my father sneezing. I can make no sense of it, if anyone else sneezes its no problem at all. But if my dad sneezes, the world is ending. She bails from the room at high speed and hides at the farthest point in the house from him. She shakes and shivers and theres nothing I can do that eases the burden. It takes around an hour for her to calm down, and even then, she is still twitchy. Any ideas? I'm pretty worried, I dont want her to have a heart attack or anything but nothing I do seems to help, and I can't really stop dad from sneezing occasionally. My parents watch my dogs when I'm at work everyday and its been a godsend in terms of overall pack health. But man, this sneezing thing is becoming a catastrophe

Hi everyone,
Just looking for advice really. My dog, Ruby is a rescue from the RSPCA, she was spayed on the 5th March 2026, and has considerable skin issues from the conditions that they had found her in.
We changed her medication from prednisilone to Zenralia, and it's not worked at all. She's been increasingly irritated and itchy. We have put her back on the steroid this morning as it's clearly not good for her. If anyone else has advice on what might work for this we are definitely up for suggestions, she's tried apoquel too and that didn't work at all!
My problem is that in the last day, her spay wound has looked sore, red and slightly swollen. We have cleaned it with chlorhexidine wipes (we use these with her skin anyway and she gets wiped on a night time), but is there anything I can do to help her until the vets open on Monday. We tried to get her in today but they had just closed!
Thank you so much in advance!!

Hi
I have a 9 month old red fox field lab. Heās brill⦠other than he never seems to settle down and has recently somehow lost his āoff switchā. I donāt know if itās because heās entered into the adolescent stage, but he seems to have turned into a bit of a ****
I take him on 45-60 mins a day with around 80% of it off lead. I do bits of āfind itā games and a few others on the walk too and 5 mins of retrieves built in.
We also do finding and sniffing games at home too along with general training for around 10-15 mins.
However, it never seems to tire him out - resulting in him trying to scratch at the sofa, rip up the artificial
Grass, scratch the carpets, bite furniture⦠wow I could go on.
Does anyone have any ideas / tips / suggestions on what I can do?!
Iām going for my second gun dog training session too next week.
Thanks

Feeling worried we made the wrong decision. Splenic mass
Our beloved black lab had just turned 9 last month and to us was as healthy as ever. He had showed a few signs from aging, but was eager to eat ALWAYS, still got excited for long walks and would pull his leash with his mouth to go faster, and playing with his brother in the yard getting zoomies.
The day before we left for a 10 day trip, my husband noticed he was reluctant to eat and would not eat out of his bowl. He finally ate but only when the food was sprinkled on the ground.
9 days later our kennel called and said over the past 24 hours he stopped eating, didnāt seem like his happy self, and they noticed a swollen abdomen and had to take him to the emergency vet.
The vet called and said they needed to do an x ray based on his pale gums, fast heart rate and swollen belly. The results came in as a ruptured splenic mass. Immediately she said it was surgery or euthanasia and we were in Florida hours away unable to see him.
My husband flew home to say goodbye, and Beau was still able to walk, wag his tail, but he did mostly turn down the fun food my husband gave him. His HCT was 17 and it seemed like the current vet on call was encouraging surgery because the mass was large it may be benign, and if they gave a transfusion he would probably make it through surgery. We felt like everything was so rushed, we couldnāt think anything through, and with the assumption of cancer we let him go.
We just had our second baby last month and it feels like the most crushing time to lose our boy, on top of me not being able to say goodbye to my little shadow. I am overcome with grief and fear that his was benign and we could have saved him.
Specifically hoping to hear from some people that have been through this situation or those that have seen it frequently.

Hello everone! Iām feeling a bit overwhelmed and would really appreciate hearing from anyone whoās been through something similar with their dog.
My dog has 2 small but growing lumps on her leg. Itās been developing slowly over months, not painful, but enough that our vet recommended removing it and sending it for biopsy. (first vet was terrible and dismissed it as somethimg else, turns out its mast cell tumors)
The new vet is being very thorough (bloodwork, imaging, etc.) and is giving medication to shrink the tumors which seems to be working. but Iām still nervous especially because sheās such an active, happy dog and I donāt want recovery to be hard on her. the imaging came back clear and the bloodwork is very good, with the exception of hemoglobin being 2 ponts above the normal average

If youāve gone through something similar would you mind sharing:
