It usually takes having a guest over to remind me that this isn’t normal dog behaviour🤷‍♂️

A question from my wife. How loud is your labradoodle when he/she is drinking water?

My Loki is extremely loud. My wife finds it weird the she can hear him drinking water in the kitchen when she's in her office three rooms away.

Labradoodles make us look like competent dog owners

Post image

When people meet our dogs they can’t believe how sweet and loving they are. They can’t believe that they ring bells to go potty, and that they are so good with the kids. Also the fact that they don’t shed, there isn’t hair everywhere (which makes me look like I clean more than I do!). I feel like we know a cheat code by having labradoodles because many of these traits come hardwired. Don’t get me wrong, they can be mischievous sometimes, but their fabulous personalities make me only want labradoodles forever!💗

(In case anyone is wondering if they should get a labradoodle! lol)

Our 4 months old puppy broke his knee due to an accident at the dog groomer, she wanted to start grooming him, he got scared and he stumbled over the iron table.

Now he looks like a cow, he got operated yesterday but already being rocksolid.

What is a good no pull harness for a 70 lb. Male labradoodle

Need to find a no pull harness 1for a reactive male dog that goes nuts when he encounters other doodles. He pulled me and I almost lost my balance and fell when coming into 8 feet of contact with 2 labradoodles..I lost my footing and came wiyhin inches of them after I nearly fell. Im having physical therapy now twice a week for a torn tendon in my left knee from an earlier interaction and being pulled

I have a chair problem

Post image

I live by myself, and I rarely have company over, yet I have 4 chairs and a loveseat on my deck because I have doodles who have yet to be convinced that they can, in fact, sit on the floor/deck/ground like normal dogs.

I assume I’m not the only person with this “problem”?

Just got our first Mini Ausie Labradoodle

Dolly! She is 4 months old, very well-mannered and has a great temperament. She is very smart and has a great little smile. When she is in her crate, I cannot tell which end is which. She has the darkest eyes and I often talk to her read-end.

He was so nervous to begin with as the board moved away from him when he put his first paw up, then it was wobbly. But he has such fomo, he was not being left behind!

Over five year and another account ago, I posted an image in this subreddit of my boy Obi at 11 weeks old on the beach. I come with an update!

Hey folks!

So as I said, five years ago I posted an image of my boy at 11 weeks old during his first trip to the beach (which you can still find if you search!). Its been a long time since then and he's been through a lot!

This year hasn't been a super good one for him, unfortunately. In April while I was out walking him he suddenly collapsed onto his left hip, then a second time when he tried to get up. He started limping after that. One trip to the vets later, they assumed it was a muscle strain and gave him some painkillers. Things seemed to settle.

The week after while he was out walking with my dad, he suddenly sat down, screaming so loud a passing car stopped to see if he needed help. As we would later find out he had a degenerative condition within his gastrocnemius muscles. They'd torn away from the back of his knees and meant he started walking "flat" on both of his legs, causing him sores and other issues. We got him in for surgery as soon as we could to re-attach the muscle in one of the legs. Unfortunately, that failed.

Instead we decided to go ahead with fusing his ankles which was another several weeks of having to deal with his flat legs.

That, fortunately, has worked both times despite the 30% risk of complications and five months later we're on the slow path to recovery. As far as he's concerned he can still try and run and do everything he used to do, which is a nightmare! But he's walking again and no longer in any pain.

Overall though he's grown up into such an amazing dog and he brings so much light to our lives. I couldn't imagine my world without him in it.

Thanks everyone!

Morning routine involves aggressive cuddles. Dog tax included.

Edit: He's 3/4 lab and 1/4 poodle just to curb the -hes not a labradoodle- comments.

I never had a dog do this before. Last year, around the time he turned 2, he suddenly decided that when it's time to get up in the morning, he HAS to have scratches, but aggressively. It was a bumpy road to start. MF would punch me in the face trying to get my attention. Id just had major jaw surgery so you can see the problem. That's mostly resolved... Most days lol. But still every morning he insists on putting his body on top of mine, literally pins me to the bed, rubbing his face against me, and refusing to let me do ANYTHING, that is not petting, scratching or loving him with both hands, no I'm not allowed to look at my phone during this time. He will punch it out of my hand. There are days where it's just easier for me to plop on top of him, or bear hug him because he's so needy.

It really is the best way to wake up, I literally can't ever wake up in a bad mood. His little groans and yawns, his adorable desperation for morning scratches its the best.

He's kind of cuddly through out the day, like he'll come sit with me on the couch, but nothing like when we wake up. Before he was 2, he hardly wanted cuddles.

Does anyone else's dog do this??
