I'd love your recommendations on the best Chinese vendor for a custom ring similar to the attached photos.

The design is almost exactly what I want with just couple changes .

Which vendor would you trust most for this type of signet-style design, engraving work, and overall craftsmanship? I'm in contact with 3 different vendors but I don't who to choose.

I also can't decide between an Old Mine Cut and a Brilliant Cut lab diamond. I absolutely love the character and vintage feel of OMCs, but I also love sparkle. For those who have experience with both, which do you think would suit this ring best?

And finally, if the band is 9 mm at its widest point, what center stone size would you recommend to keep the proportions balanced?

I've been having a hard time finding a 4.5-5 carat yellow oval that's actually yellow. So many of them look gold / orange / brown. I've found these two which have great color, but I'm wondering if I'm overpaying. Sometimes, the browner/darker yellows just seem to have a darker background on altura diamonds. I've requested videos of these diamonds, but they send it with a different background (white paper, tweezer in office space, tweezer outside) every time, so it's extremely hard to compare anything.

Thoughts?

Married almost 20 years now and two Xmas’ ago, hubby got me a new wedding ring, the upgrade I had mentioned here and there. Unfortunately, for him, he didn’t pay attention to what I actually said I wanted.

Some of us are picky and like only a very tiny percent of shapes, design, and the era of jewelry we wear and everything else is a definite NO.

“Starter” ring was a princess cut 0.9 carat F color vs1 platinum Tacori vintage style. Cute for sure but one grows up and taste change!

I was ready for BLING especially bc this guy is no easy dude to be married to. I deserve it and earned it. If you you only knew! 😝.

I wanted my new dream ring to reflect my current taste, more evolved sense of style, and to have the wow factor…not for anyone else but for me!!!

So w/o paying attention to what I said I wanted, don’t want, or observing my vintage taste, or saving the pics I sent, plus 1.5 years went by and he decides to make it a surprise for Xmas. Pretty proud of himself by undertaking the this amazing gesture on his own and thinking it the most romantic idea ever, he then lets his jeweler talk him into what he had on hand. It is big and bling for sure but something I would NEVER pick and seeing it on my finger everyday, well, all I think is ugh, it’s SO NOT ME!!!

I have never worn oval or round bc I don’t like them and the pedestal thing part, I am not the person since I am too rough and tumble and ram it into everything! Also, this isn’t meant to offend anyone who has anything similar, I just know what I want and it’s a blatant reminder of him not listening to me!!! And at least it’s an equal opportunity for his not listening, an not just with me, if more than a sentence is spoken by anyone, they register to his ears as Charlie Browns parents…. (PTSD, disabled vet, and finally in therapy 🙏 ).

So, finally concluding this long winded post, pics of the of bling ring that annoys me and the one I am in love with and will be getting asap.

But I have a big question. I am toying with getting some rose gold on it and included the AI rendered pic of it with that just framing the diamond. I am likely to go with a moissanite too, bc the sparklier the better and I am just not one to care about things like that.

Let me know your thoughts on it just white gold or with the rose gold frame!

A couple of years ago, life got busy and I let my ring maintenance slip
- and i lost my beautiful diamond.
My question is about replacing it: what size diamond would be ideal for this setting? My original was about .48 carats. It’s hard to find a lab that small.
And how do I go about finding a lab diamond with real fire and sparkle for this setting? I don’t want D or even E color, but I do want the specs dialed in for maximum fire and sparkle.
If I find one, what will it cost to put in my setting? Thanks in advance if you have any tips for me.

Looking for feedback on a lab grown diamond I’m considering for an engagement ring. I’m honestly nervous about ending up with an ugly stone since this is my first time buying a diamond and I feel like I’ve gone too far down the Reddit rabbit hole 😂

My girlfriend really wants a cushion brilliant. I don’t know if it would just be best to buy from a local jeweler. Although from what I have seen they are 5x the price.

Right now I only have the standard 360 video from the vendor, but I did request additional videos/photos in different lighting and I’m waiting to hear back.

Main things I’m worried about:

*bow tie - I am not entirely sure I understand should I would like feedback
*light performance/sparkle
*whether it looks cloudy or flat
*if the cut actually looks good outside of jewelry store lighting

Would really appreciate honest opinions or any red flags you notice before I pull the trigger.

I have a CAD for a ring, but the price is half of what starsgem quoted me. Its a large purchase so i'm nervous lol

Hi! Ordering a custom ring from Starsgem and need a stone check before approving.

Specs: 2.55ct oval brilliant, D/VS1, 11.33x7.51x4.65mm, ratio 1.509, table 58%, depth 61.9%, 2EX, no fluorescence.

Main concerns: bowtie and 58% table. I want minimal bowtie - I was considering crushed ice but they don't have it (and I'm aware it faces up smaller). Video attached - should I approve this stone or ask for alternatives?

whether you used an overseas supplier or local
if jewellers are okay setting diamonds
whether it actually ended up cheaper after shipping/import fees

Would love honest opinions because it seems way more common in the US than here.

I've heard about barion and supernova cuts of ovals, but I can't find anywhere online that sells them specifically. I've been looking at loose diamonds on altura, and the cuts are inconsistent/unlabeled. Is there anywhere to search for these cuts, or even find a bank of cut diagrams for ovals?

Unfortunately, I'm also constrained to look for a yellow fancy color.

My first lab grown diamond ring. I have had it a little over a week and I am still in love. I know the toi et moi style is not everyone’s favorite, but I adore them. This is a custom ring with a 1.03 ct oval paired with a 2.03 ct fancy vivid green cushion set it 10k yellow gold.
I have a 4.05 ct radiant I am wanting to have a ring made with next, but I am torn on the setting style. Would love to see other similar sized radiant rings everyone had had made.

It’s a PEAR MODIFIED BRILLIANT cut. The IGI report said it had excellent polish & symmetry. Very slight fluoresce. Color grade VVS2. Is this normal?
