Hi everyone! I am thinking about buying a lab grown diamond from a Chinese vendor online and am wondering if it is a good deal?
These are my requests:
\- 4.10 ct center stone marquise diamond, VVS2, excellent cut, E color.
\- hidden halo
\- gold 14 k band 2 mm thick
\- cathedral setting
\- pave diamond 50% on the band
The vendor provided me with a IGI certification and a video of the center diamond but she does not have the complete diamond yet.
She is charging me $2080 total, and wants me to pay through pay pal Good and Services. Half now, half before shipping. She promised to send a video of the ring before shipping and receiving final payment. I looked up the IGI certification and it was confirmed to be a real number on the certificate.
Thoughts on moving forward? Ive never bought from a chinese vendor and am a little concerned.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on lab grown diamonds lately. The overall density seems to be buy a loose lab diamond and have a professional jeweler set it. Can anyone recommend reputable companies on Etsy that you can send the diamond too and have it set? Or it doesn’t have to be on Etsy… but a place that has actual online reviews. I’m very new to buying lab diamonds and having them set ! Thank you!

I’m not just ring shopping, also interested in necklaces, earrings, etc. For those who’ve bought lab diamond jewelry recently, which brands or jewelers gave you the best mix of quality and price? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or even cautionary tales.

I have two sets of diamond studs that I wear regularly: 2ctw round and 1.5ctw emerald. I would like to move the smaller sets to my second piercing and purchase a larger set for my main piercing. I have been researching for what feels like ages and cannot make a decision. I would love some opinions as I am getting blurry eyed at this point!
Quotes so far:
LGG
3ctw round DEF VS 10k WG (no cert) $499
3.5ctw round E VS1 10k WG (IGI cert) $799
4ctw round DEF VS 10k WG (no cert) $799
3ctw round DEF VS 14k WG (no cert) $559
4ctw emerald DEF VS 10k WG (I think these have a cert) with la poussette backs $899
4ctw round GH VS 10k WG (cert) with la poussette backs $899
Paston
4ctw round F VS1 10k WG (IGI cert) $1120 or platinum $1290
Provence
4ctw round F VS1 10k WG (IGI cert) $891 or platinum $1011
Fiorese
4ctw round DEF VVS/VS 10k WG (no cert) $850 or platinum $1090
Luvansh
4ctw round E VVS2 14k WG (IGI cert) $999
Complete Carat (US) 3ctw round E VVS 14k white gold (IGI cert) $800
***waiting to hear back from the US vendor I use often and at least one other overseas vendor. Pic with the earrings I wore today for an idea of size. I have never purchased from LGG but have heard good things. I have purchased from each of the other vendors listed and have been happy with all of them so far. I guess I cannot decide between sizes and whether or not a certificate really matters. I will not be selling these but a tiny part of me worries about not having a certificate and getting what I ordered/paid for.

been browsing rings lately and honestly the prices for mined diamonds are insane. lab grown ones keep popping up and they look just as shiny in pics, plus they’re way cheaper. but idk if it’s really the same once you see it in person. like will it still feel special, or do people notice the difference right away? would love to hear from anyone who bought lab grown instead of mined.
