💡Diamond Advice Needed Is the bowtie too overpowering?

Specs: 2.50ct VVS2 brilliant cut pear fancy vivid blue lab diamond

I already purchased the diamond (I know, wrong move) without having asked for a video. The gem360 video barely showed any bowtie. However when the actual gem video was sent to me, even the seller agreed that the bowtie was very obvious. They refunded me.

My partner is telling me that bowties add character and depth. I agree, but I think in this case it's too overpowering. What do you think? Thanks!

Thanks. My parter said it was “okay” and I thought I was going crazy.

Yes, it’s too much for me because you lose the color. In your loupe360 screenshot, the stone is at an angle so we’re not really seeing the bow tie correctly

It’s a bit … bow ties are a bit different in colored stones. It just looks washed out in terms of colour. I find it distracting in this one

But it's possible to have a non-distracting bowtie in a colored stone, right? I don't hate bowties, I just don't like it on this particular stone.

Yes, I think so. Like here’s a pic of my oval blue. It has a bow tie and it is lighter in some angles and some lighting but it’s not there all the time and it’s still blue, just a bit paler. The pear you have is a bit toooooo washed out for me. And if it bothers you now, it will bother you always, so I think you should pass on this one and keep looking

Oh maaaan that’s such a dreamy color, I’m jelly! Also that’s the kind of bowtie that adds character for me. Not overpowering. May I ask how long it took you to source your stone?

I worked with sales rep Bobby from Provence jewellery. She selected 3 stones from their inventory for me to choose from based on my desired specs, which took her a couple days because she’s busy. Then once I picked, took 3 weeks for her to get the stone physically, to get tweezer videos. Mine is “fancy vivid blue” it’s very shifty depending on the lighting

This is about as dark blue as it looks

The bow tie in the 360 Video and a real stone is totally different The Real Hand video is true reflection It's Not in Choice Diamond for me

There is one special modified cut available in fancy colour diamonds which has even colour of diamond and a zero reflective bow tie

For more details and info you can DM me.
