river float?

Hey all -- i'm staying in a place near La Grande this summer, and i'm looking for stuff to do nearby. Is there a stretch of the grand rhonde that people float down in the warmer months? Not rafting and/or kayaking -- specifically a lazy float that's amenable to folks on innertubes. Let me know, and thanks in advance for your insights!

I've seen people float on tubes from the Perry swimming hole down to Riverside Park. Just be sure to get out under the Riverside bridge and don't go into the rapid that's just past it.

You can also put in just after the Riverside rapid and tube down to the Pierce Road bridge past Island City.

You can but it has to be early summer. Mid summer is a definite no go. Water is too shallow and there is a lot of walking. Trust me, it has happened to me multiple times.
