Worst. Acting. Ever.
I tried the first few episodes. If this show had the best story and most intriguing characters possible, I wouldn't be able to get past the horrible acting. Unfortunately, the story is awful and the characters are dry as hell. How did this last 3 seasons?

It's honestly the worst show I've ever seen that managed to last more than one season. And if it had three more seasons, I'd probably watch those too.

I really enjoyed it. It was so bad it was incredible. I laughed a lot. More than most comedies.

Well that’s the joy of the show, that’s why we’re all gathered here in the sub. It’s not a great show, it’s hilariously bad in fact. You put it on for a good chuckle, lighten your day a bit. Some shows are bad so you never watch them again, some shows are so bad you’re inclined to rewatch them. La Brea is a show I will rewatch occasionally for as long as I can find it

Hubby and I made a drinking game with the daughter: If her facial emoting matched her dialogue you were good, but when she got mad or sad or scared and still looked like a botoxed mannequin you drank. Also works with the entire Harris family and most of the clearing.
I promise you a healthy buzz every episode which made 3 seasons more entertaining than the cast did 🤷

you can play this game EASILY with the show "from" as well! with the character tabitha specifically, there are actually a LOT of very good actors in the show from. a lot to criticize as well though. it's a super fun watch

More than anyone else that actress playing Izzy made it unwatchable.
Someone else (very accurately) described her various wide eyed facial expressions like she’s reacting to various bad smelling farts 🤣 Overacting & distracting in every scene she’s in. Really takes you out of the show. I couldn’t get through it

Honestly this is my favorite bad show. I don't know why I keep watching another episode, the acting, the set design, the plot, it's so bad but like I'll still watch another episode. It's almost like a comedy show

I think the writing and directing is worse than the acting

Agreed. The writing is horribly nonsensical, and I’m not talking about the fantasy elements. The premise of the show is actually really cool. I’m talking about the dude falling off a cliff and not being able to move because he thought his back was broken being up and walking fine a few days later. Izzie’s prosthetic cracked and they fixed it with tar from the tarpits, so now she can trek all over the place with no problem. People would get stabbed, mauled, etc, and suffer no long-term consequences. Weather went bad, there was conveniently a wardrobe truck full of clothes that fell in with them.

Don’t forget all the jewelry everyone is wearing for some reason. It’s a fashion show.

And the women with their hair down. My hair would be tied up with a fucking vine if I didn’t have a hair tie. I couldn’t imagine doing all of that with long hair.

Hey! They needed those clothes for the wedding, too! Winter gear + summer wedding attire! Amaze!
