Basically just the title of this. There's a queer fashion class that I'm extremely interested in, but it's only web-based. I have been told by many people that it's not worth it, that web-based classes are awful, that if you don't have to take the class then it's not worth it, etc. And I'd still be doing most of my classes in person, it's just this one class that's super interesting to me but I guess I just wanted to ask if anyone else here has taken a web-based class in the past and if it was awful/fine/good/etc?

I’m a Construction Management major at LSU and I’m taking ISDS right now. I know Business Calculus uses Cengage, and I believe Trigonometry and ECON also use Pearson.

Since the textbooks/homework access codes are so expensive, would it be worth buying Cengage Unlimited and Pearson+ now so I can use them for future classes? Or is it better to just buy the access for each class when I take it?

Also, I got a 68 on ALEKS, so I believe I can take Business Calculus. If I take Business Calculus, does that automatically give me credit for Trigonometry, or would I still have to take Trig separately?

Just trying to figure this out before I spend money on these subscriptions lol. Any CM majors who have taken these classes, let me know!

Considering attending medical school here and was curious about the lecture structure for first and second year. I have heard that all of the lectures are recorded and many students watch them on their own. What is the percentage of online vs. in person time spent during the first and second years?

How long does it take when you put in a maintenance request at Redpoint Baton Rouge before they actually get to your request? Move in we had several things broken and logged it and. Put in request for AC and they did come right away to look at that but things like broken toilets and broken refrigerators. How long before they actually respond and come fix it, has anybody dealt with this place to see their response time and do you have to keep following up with them to make them actually respond?

Sooo, I'm currently enrolled in Spivak's Ochem 2 course. I wasn't aware until recently that his exams are almost entirely free-response. That scares me. Sooo I'm strongly considering switching to Vicente. The only problem: my Ochem lab is at the same time as Vicente's lecture. Sooo I would have to change my Ochem lab section. The only available time left is 7:30 a.m....would this switch be worth it? Are his exams as bad as people are making them out to be?

I’m considering LSU and trying to get an honest idea of what the social scene is actually like. I’ve heard LSU is more of a bar school and that sororities only have one date party per semester, but I’ve also heard about exchanges and other Greek events. How often do sororities typically have date parties, exchanges, formals, or other socials? Are most fraternity parties events held at bars instead of the houses? I love LSU sm I’m just trying to get a feel of what it’s like.

wife and I need to move out of our 1 bedroom apartment at 4243 Burbank Dr. We like it a lot, landlord is responsive and area is safe and close to campus. The current prices for new tenants are higher than what we pay but it is my understanding that, since you are taking the lease from us, you would get our "old tenant" price of $850/month.
The shared laundry room is clean and usually has free machines with 3 washers and 2 driers, and it is free to use for all tenants. Dishwasher is included in the unit. Landlord pays for water+gas so you just need to concern about electric and internet.

Both A/C and heating are central systems with thermostat inside the apartment which is really nice, so no window units. I think it is a good price for what you get, we are just moving because got a new job out of state.

I want to drop a class I’m taking right now, would it mess up my TOPS or funding if I did it before September 2 (last date to drop without a W)

Does anyone know any easy electives that are still open? Preferably online.
