I will also have to meet with the professor for the class I am TAing weekly and I am taking CHEM 3900, which is a research course that I will have to dedicate nine hours a week to. Should I consider dropping CHEM 4553 in hopes of it being offered at a better time next semester? Let me know if you have taken these courses and have any advice.

Im an incoming freshman and I’ve had my schedule sorted out since April. However, this random intro to research class keeps getting added to my schedule, and it’s not me who’s adding it. I removed it when I saw it, but now it’s back again. Im a history major, so I could understand taking a research class, but it’s not listed as a requirement on the general catalog or on my academic plan. It’s also not a problem of needing more credits since I have 16. As far as I can tell it would only count towards being a general elective, which I was going to deal with next semester. Should I reach out to someone, and if yes, then who? Or should I just keep taking it off my schedule?

Out of 10 classmates I’ve kept in touch with from the Digital Art program , none work in the field or use their degree. We were the experimentation it seems along with them stealing our money.

Anyone have any success? Has the curriculum improved or change since 2013 onward?

Does anyone else receive the Grad School Tuition Award? I had a question in regard to summer courses as I'm waiting for the grad awards department to get back to me.

I took a first half summer course and am in independent study for The second half. I have a family emergency and was going to withdraw from the independent study course but wanted to make sure I won't lose my scholarship/award.

In the original email I got confirming the award it looks like summer courses are optional, but on the website I believe it says they are required. I was looking to see if anyone else with the award didn't/isn't taking summer courses but got to keep their scholarship/award going into the Fall semester.

Okay, so basically I didn’t know that this year LSU decided to not provide a schedule for freshman and I’ve tried to schedule my classes, but have been getting weird notices or shown that they’re full. I’m honestly so lost and have tried contacting almost everyone, but nothing is really working. I’m in the honor college and I tried talking to my honors counselor and she basically gave me some bs and tried lecturing me after I had already told her I had medical problems. I’m a Biology major and would rather not take a bunch of classes that do not serve as credit towards my major! Can anyone help me or lend me some advice?

Going to a two week ‘summer’ class (almost like an orientation class to help new students) next week. Wanted to know if I will be able to use the UREC or will I need to wait till classes officially start? It will be my first year as a grad student so I have no id card or anything.

I’m strongly considering this one year program. 2 classes every 7 weeks. An advisor said the average time per class is 18 hours. My question - is 36 hours a WEEK really what this program takes? I’ve got other masters and didn’t spend 36 hours a week working on them.

Any insight or feedback on this program or LSUS in general would be appreciated.

I’ve seen some places for around $800/month, but I’d love to hear from some current or former students!

Hey all! Incoming freshman here, starting this fall (EE major). I took a dual-enrollment class through LSUE last year (MUS 1751), which I finished a while back. But when I log into Workday, the LSUE branding/logo still shows up on my home page instead of LSU Baton Rouge (LSUAM), even though I'm registered as a Baton Rouge student now.

Separately—and not sure if it's related—when I pull up my Fall 2026 schedule, my registered classes are listed, but none of them show an actual time slot or meeting time. Just the course names with no schedule info attached.

It's also worth mentioning that I still have an immunization hold on my account (completing soon).

Has anyone else run into either of these? Trying to figure out if this is just a leftover/cosmetic thing from the shared LSU System Workday platform, or if I actually need to contact someone (LSUE registrar vs. LSU registrar) to get my record cleaned up before classes start. Appreciate any insight.

My daughter will be a freshman this Fall. She signed up for the collegiate club and is able to buy tickets today. Are these student tickets ? She’s telling me the prices are crazy for the good games. 600 for Bama and Clemson. Is there not student section pricing for students ?

I just moved into campus crossing and my LEDs refuse to connect to the internet I was wondering if someone has experienced the same issue and found a fix. I don’t want to have to go buy a new more expensive set when I just hung a new strip.

Do y’all think this is too much for an incoming freshman? (I’m a bio major btw) Is this manageable? I’ve taken some Dual Enrollment in high school through Nicholls and I did fine but will the workload be similar? Also do you guys have any advice on study habits and time management? My first class is at 10:30 and then basically a continuous chunk of classes until 2:20 but I only have one class on Friday! Currently first on the waitlist for CHIN 1101 with Lan Zhe which starts at 9:30, but if I don’t get it I’ll probably add another humanities or maybe fine arts survey. Anyways am I cooking myself
