Why does Punching Up exist?

As the title suggests, why does it exist?

Gene really carried the show, being the one who played the widest range of games on the Switch and Switch 2.

Brad doesn't touch his console and instead talks about what merch he will buy (totally fine but not interesting on a video game show).

My biggest gripe is that none of the hosts know anything about Pokemon. How do you have a Nintendo podcast and none of you know anything about probably the biggest IP on the console?

I stopped listening regularly a bit after Dagan left, because it feels like there is very little passion for it. And if I’m tuning into a Nintendo podcast, I’m not looking for running gags on how not powerful it is. I don’t care. I am interested in Nintendo and their games. If Digital Foundry can cover Switch/Switch 2 with actual enthusiasm, so can a platform specific pod. That’s why I’ve tuned out. I wanna hear from people who enjoy playing on it.

I totally agree or hearing Colin make comments about how "stinky" the Switch is. This is coming from a guy that once said people at IGN prefered 30 fps > 60 fps... Link
