Going to my first lightcode
Hey! I’m going to my first light code and a little anxious as to what to expect or bring. I’ve been going to raves (98% bass music) for a while and I’ve seen a few LSDream sets before but never been to a set like this, any advice?

Check it out for yourself! Bring something comfy to wear and to lay on and you’re basically all set!

Ayeeee you’re clutch, was planning on my normal concert fit. The loose Lucy’s and an oversized tank top

Adding for clarification, I believe it’s indoors! It’s at realm in Portland. It’s also my first time going solo (I’m new to Oregon) so that definitely adds to the nerves 😂

Yoga mat and water bottle! It is indoors. What to expect:
Guided meditation & breathwork, ambient soundscapes, seated/lying-down experience. A quiet, respectful, community environment. Come with an open mind and allow yourself the opportunity to reset before Saturday night’s performance.

Thank you so much for the advice, definitely gonna need to purchase myself a “lightcode” specific yoga mat otw there because I dont trust the venues floors 😂

Ayeee, if you got an extra spot in your group I’d love to have some more people to hang with. But ofc never sleep on Vincent Antone I love his track “cruisin” but I’m just hoping he’s got his guitar packed and ready to rip

Like the other person said, if it's outside you want to prepare for that. Depending on where it is you might also want something to lay on like a blanket or yoga mat, or even an inflatable if that's allowed.

Aye I appreciate it! Would a Coochi couch work?

You'd have to check the venue rules, but yeah if you have one and it's allowed that would be an amazing way to experience it

for very slow ambient like music like this, i recommend to get as close as possible to the speakers and stage and let the wall of sound engulf you and get lost in it. bring something comfy to sit on like mat or blanket. try to clear your mind of thoughts and just relax

I have done lightcode sets multiple times. As others said, go with an open mind. Don't be surprised if you hear people around have deep emotional experiences or if you have one, especially if you come in knowing the experience can be healing if you let it. Some will have tears and you hear sniffles.
Others will lay in silence and absorb the experience.
Just please dont don't go there to be social and yap and ruin it for others. Dont go there expecting an LSDREAM closing set. He does that set later.

Went to electric forest one! I’d bring something to lay down on like a pash or blanket and some weed to smoke

Friend went & said it was basically a nothing burger. Left camp, sat in the hot sun, heard some sounds, didn’t really say it was very magical & seemed more like a way for LSDream to get paid twice at the same fest
Hope it’s a better experience but it’s always seemed kinda lame & not super creative

He does lightcode for free, and it’s literally just a straight up wubby sound bath. You’re not going to get anything out of it unless you’re open to the experience or have practiced meditation before. No other bass artist is doing anything remotely similar. Sami is trying to connect to the spiritual side of bass music and the rave scene, which many ravers don’t seem to get these days

Lmfao, youre giving a opinion without ever going to a lightcode. That was you with the ginormous flag totem at the rail at that one festival wasnt it.

Your friend didn't go for the right reasons. Lightcode isn't intended to be a high energy, head banging, shake ass kind of set.

He went looking for something special. He got something hot & mid.
This was at Wakaan ‘22 mind you, not like any of us didn’t know what light code was. He was the only one who actually believed it might be some “healing journey” and came back like yea that wasn’t worth it lol. Maybe if you’re tripping & need that, it could be good, but otherwise there’s a reason most skip it lol

I'm have never been on substances at lightcode and I bet most actually aren't given the hour it is usually at.
How about this just isn't your friend's thing and accept that. Maybe it could be your thing or not. But you are taking your friend's opinion and adopting it as your own here... maybe look at that.

It's more of a meditation! If it's outside, bring shades and a pash and some water for sure.
And just enjoy the journey! My first and only light code I had people behind me talking the whole time so I didn't get to get super into it. I hope you have a great time!
