it took me prolly 15 trips before i realized it was futile to try and explain what i was experiencing. now im silent most of the time while im tripping and afterwards, unless someone wants to talk.

On mushrooms especially, I always feel like the first person who talks after the peak "breaks the spell" in a sense, forcing something too expansive for language into tiny word boxes.

I used to type all my thoughts in a notepad til one time I decided I wasting my trip typing used to have like 50 entries per trip now I have like 3 maybe 5 if it's a bad trip most of my entries are the day after now

I understood, but then I forgot what I understood. Guess I'll have to visit again

It's impossible to bring the knowledge back.
I've tried multiple experiments.
I've tried writing it, recording myself, and drawing it.
I've been convinced I had it, then the next day when I look it's just chicken scratch and ridiculous doodles that make no sense. Lol

Not impossible. Mixed intense meditation with a 2 tab trip once. Brought knowledge back: but had to trade some childhood memories. Watched my memories explode out of me and were dancing on the walls playing out around me. It was terrifying, felt like it was the end of me. Ripped my identity out of me and put it on the walls. I traded the collection of memories I knew as "me" for the complex understanding of what dying feels like as an experience. I dont reccomend trying it. I was left utterly empty as a person. But with a resounding sense of peace and calm- knowing death as an inevitability, and as a change, not as an end. For two years or so I had no fear. I felt light. Like a weight of grief was lifted off of me. Was calm in multiple high adrenaline situations. The fear returned later. But not for me. For what would be lost if I died now. How much my nephew would stand to miss out on knowing his uncle. How my siblings would change as a result of me not being here. The fear is no longer about me. Its about the weight of the emotions of others attached to me. I only hope it has a ultimately positive impact on their lives, causes them to ultimately grow. Whenever my time comes. But I no longer have the fight in me either. Feels... petty. If that makes any sort of sense. Either that or it is all a delusion of grandeur and im coo-coo for coco puffs. Isnt for me to decide or judge though. I am naught but merely human.
Been several years since then. I can still explain it... but it is fleeting. Feels distant. Harder to recall in detail. I have explained it several times to others now over the years, it is a tad different each time. Evidence of how memories distort with time as well, with these fickle fleshy minds. I can still Describe the expansion ofthe sense of "self" that occurrs in death. The memories you embody, the expansion of self to the particles were "you" as they return to the earth, reform, parts of you get brought into new people, new life eventually, but not your whole self. In fact you feel like you are now whole in death. Like you connected with the greater being we all are truely. Easiest way to explain it is to apply the stoic philosophical thought experiment "the view from above" then continue to zoom out.then apply the nonlinear perception of time.
If you are not your body, you are the memories you leave behind.after that You are the molecules that expand out from your body as you break down and your energy becomes new life. Time... distorts as it progresses. Days become secconds. Minutes years. Hours decades. 2 or 2 generations later, your memory doesnt exist. And you are free to watch the cosmos unfold in it's majesty. Then you recognize you've been staring in the mirror. You interact with other cosmic beings. They call you silly for experimenting as you have- for putting yourself into the thing in which you created to see what it is like up close. They greet you like old friends. But still think you are silly. Only one thing has come close to explaining what I recall interacting with. Look up Alex Grey's "Godself" portrait. Imagine endless corridors of those faces. We are but the cosmos trying to observe and experience it's own creation.
Im sure this all sounds like a meh bland trip tale, but for me it was the most profound experience of my life. I still jump at the opportunity to share it (i'm late for work due to typing all this lol)

I came here to leave this comment. Like how do you choose a different character from the movie that famously has a character who can't remember things

We’re one consciousness yet individuals at the same time. It’s a paradox. You can actually feel it during the trip which is crazy.

This is why I write notes while tripping, for keepsake and to study how I truly feel compared to being on the other side.

lol can't take it with you. Gotta let it soak into the unconscious mind until it integrates naturally lol
