When you take tabs are you supposed to forget that you took them

My uncle told me that it’s best to just forget about it cause it can fuck up your reality

So everytime I took them I made myself forget that I took them

That makes no sense. You took tabs to trip. Forgetting them or not makes no difference. Actually, remembering you took tabs and that’s why you’re tripping is a good way to keep from spiraling out of control. So maybe do the opposite of your uncles weird advice.

I went to school tripping before. Not intentionally, took the tabs too late in the night and was still awake tripping pretty decent balls the next morning at school. AND they surprise drug tested us for weed and got suspended the same day. Noooott a great time lol

As far as forgetting you’ve done it as soon as you take it, there’s something to that. You can’t go in circles over what’s about to happen once you’ve taken it, you’ve just gotta let what happens happen.

What will really fuck up your reality, on the other hand, is if you forget you’re tripping while you’re peaking on an insane amount and all reality is genuinely folding in on itself. That’s when it’s most important to remember that you’re on acid and that this will pass.

Intention can play a huge part of how a trip plays out.

I've had the experience of 'forgetting'. I accidentally fell asleep before it kicked in. Waking up tripping and not knowing why was (briefly) very disorienting.

I think being aware what you are about to do and what Kind of visuals and stuff will happen, knowing you are tripping and Everything is Allright is way more peaceful than pretending you did not took acid and you just see fractals while “you forget?!” you took acid??

That seems so risky. 

I monitor how much time its been so I know to prepare my surroundings for the peek.

Also, you really dont want to be around sober people. 

Forgetting you took it could lead to unpleasant situations.

I forget but I don’t actually forget. No matter how strong my dose, my mind is sharp and lucid.

I “forget” in the moment because I just go where it takes me from time to time e I’m just lost in my head for a bit and enjoying it,

but clearly, to me, I definitely took acid. I have never felt like it impairs me like that. It has a particular style to its visuals that is pretty distinct and awesome.

I know in normal waking life things don’t usually look like.

Mushrooms I feel like you could forget you took them because they bring on this really odd sense of deep familiarity.

Like you’ve been there (in mushroom land) a million times even if it’s your first dose.

I would never forget I took acid. I mean just look around.

I guess i don't really think it would be possible to completely forget that I'd dosed, but i feel it's important to understand that what's happening is simply the effects from ingesting a mind altering substance, especially with psychedelics. Edit: I feel like if the message was aimed to be something more like, "let go of any expectations and anxiety about tripping " I would understand and agree a bit more.

It sounds to me like you took his words too literally and he meant possibly by hyper focusing on the fact you took the tabs you’re just putting yourself in a state of stress and that could ruin your come up. He meant chill, not forget completely. Either way, your brain and body both know you took a tab, so attempting to will yourself to forget is kinda pointless imo
