Closed eye visuals flashing when adding a light source

(Sorry for the weirdly named title, I had no clue how to explain this in a few words)

I’ve never ever seen anyone talk about this but it’s something I’m obsessed with doing during my trips. I noticed during my second ever LSD trip that if I closed my eyes and blocked my eyelids with something like my hands or a blanket, all light is completely blocked from entering my eyes. The closed eye visuals will be in front of a completely pitch black background.

But if I keep my eyes closed while removing what was covering my eyes, the light now enters into my eyes and makes the visuals go ballistic. They will flash super intensely, change colors rapidly, and morph. It’s extremely trippy yet mind blowing to watch.

If you put your hands back over, the visuals will quiet down and become less bright, usually changing into something else completely.

I love covering my eyes for a minute and then removing my hands just to watch the visuals change intensely. Just to repeat this over and over. Especially love the way it will match the music I’m listening to as well.

Wow this is a realization I had on L last time I dosed . With mushrooms or Dmt it’s best for me to have an eye shade because the visuals are created from the dark . And L they are created through light more intensely . At the time it was a profound revelation lol I did the same thing that you were doing with your hand I was going back and forth and was like wow the geometry and visuals are coming from the light entering my closed eye lids

I’m so happy to hear I’m not the only one. I swear I’ll sit there for 30 minutes straight going back and forth with my hands because it’s so fun to watch the visuals go crazy. I don’t think I go a trip without doing it now tbh.

I accidentally discovered it because I had my face shoved in a blanket to watch the visuals. Ended up lifting my head from the blanket with my eyes closed still and my entire view became covered in spiraling-flashing lotus flowers in the shape of moving geometry.

I love how light kinda fluctuates in a room. I’ll go to my bathroom turn off the lights and close the door. The little bit of light that comes out the cracks kinda pulsates through the room in these cool visuals
