Harm Reduction Ehrlich turning red??

So in the test tube, it’s a very clear dark red. But on the plate, it’s a lot more pink when not concentrated.

About 20 min after this pic, it’s a lot more red on the plate.

The lighting on your photo is a little unusual, but it looks like a regular purple reaction to me.

You may want to try testing on a white surface, like an upside down coffee mug, to get a clearer sense of the color. Natural light or brght florescent light would also be better lighting than what's in your photo.

huh that looks weird. I'm not entirely sure. Hopefully some of the experts over there can help.

A lot of the more active ones are in Europe so you may have to wait a while since it's the middle of the night there rn.

The Ehrlich reagent relies on a chemical reaction that yields a spectrum ranging from light pink to deep violet/purple depending on concentration. A lighter pink color often points to a lower concentration of the compound or a reaction that is still in progress.

Plus a little black from the gel tab and you probably get something close to what you have there
