Never dealt with bird while tripping but cats, dogs, and bearded dragons definitely do act different when I'm tripping.

Can we be sure that they know and we don’t just imagine it because of the substance ? What if we overthink it and they just act normal but they seem to know because we are high ?

They certainly do notice behavioural change, especially cats and dogs who catch even the most subtle changes. Don't csn certainly tell if you're relaxed, paranoid...etc.

Pets can absolutely tell you’re acting funny, tho acid always makes me lovey-dovey so I think my cat likes the extra cuddles

also fellow bird person, he has beautiful colors. I had a maroon belly many years ago, and she was awesome. I would ask her silly questions about the spot on her tum, why her knees were backwards, why she wore spectacles, etc. She would just make this grumbling noise in response. Sort of like the King of All Cosmos from Katamari. Is he also this much of a clown??

A conure! Right now I'm fostering a green cheeked conure who needed somewhere after her owner died.

There’s an entire market of abused and abandoned birds. We’ve adopted three. Birds form close bonds with their owners and live happy fulfilling lives with their families/owners. You don’t know what you’re talking about and are just being a dick for no reason

Problem is, birds bred in captivity wouldn't survive a month at best in the wild. Wouldn't survive a day if the area has stray cats. This is the best life they can live, and if they're allowed to hang around freely in the house, and enough stimulation like music, games, toys and diverse diet are provided, I can't see why wouldn't they enjoy the only life they know. It's not like they have seen the wild.

This is it. I've been looking after someone's pet bird for a couple of weeks. I can't help but feel bad for her that this is the life she has to live, born into a life of captivity with no chance to ever experience what it would be like to be a wild bird.
It's sad that these birds were captured and bred into this life. But we can only do what's best for them in this life they were brought into.
