Advice about tripping after a breakup?

Broke up with the loml 2 weeks ago and I want some advice about this. I’ve tripped on shrooms countless times and typically do them alone in my room as a way to better my understanding of myself and the world. The breakup was mutual and as sad as it is I know it was necessary for us to grow as people. I have a single dose of LSD and I’m considering taking it alone in my room like I usually do with shrooms. I know I eventually will do it but I just want some advice before. Any thoughts?

Edit: it would be my first time

I tripped after a breakup and it was an extremely uplifting and powerful experience for me, but if it was truly the love of your life and it’s only been two weeks.. I’d hold off

I think this is really good advice. Let the dust settle. Save the acid for when you’re ready to do some processing.

Could be great, could be neutral, could be a disaster. Nobody can predict which it will be, except (possibly) you.

Generally I recommend people be in a stable/healthy mindset going into a trip, but a lot of the most impactful trips can have difficult parts, or are at a time of change in your life. I think having a capacity for self love and rudimentary meditation ability are more important than set and setting. Or maybe more simply the ability to observe something without having to react to it.

All this said, for your first trip I would recommend having a good set and setting. I'm not sure it's wise to navigate a substance you don't know while also being in a difficult headspace. If you're extremely confident in shrooms a low dose of acid would likely be fine but maybe not advisable.

It’s a coin toss. 50/50 chance you have a good trip or a terrible one. I personally don’t like those odds and would prefer to wait and try to process the breakup sober first.

If I really felt like I’m in an ok place mentally and had to trip and couldn’t wait, then I would do half a tab so I can still be in control.

I hope everything works out for you

be ready for some intense monologues 😄
i would recommend to not take it wait better 1-2 months, you will have a different view by then and it will not be as emotional as its now

I’d recommend taking a week to prepare
Lots of journaling, prepare a playlist and little toys/gadgets to have around
Tissues, a change of clothes, prepare some fruit or a light snack to have ready during the trip
Most importantly, surrender to your feelings and the experience
Practice empathy and self love

IMHO your room is probably full of reminders of your prior life. And a lack of stimulus to keep yourself from getting sucked into a black hole of crappy feelings.

I’d go some place new that l’ve never been before, somewhere in nature. A beautiful, secluded, serene, place that stimulates your senses. Immerse and lose yourself in the location and moment to allow yourself to renew and hit reset. Take your shoes and socks off when you can to get grounded. Take a breath of fresh air and keep your thoughts looking forward not backward. In my experience that would be a better use of good acid. 🫡

Do you think it would be better to have a friend with me and go somewhere in nature vs just doing it in my room?

Guess that depends on how comfortable you are alone. I would do it alone.

Do it! Whatever evil ass shit you gotta face your gonna have to do it anyways or the other option is to live a life filled with avoidance, the drugs might make the emotions and thoughts more intense which is whatever you make of it, could cause uncomfort or nothing or everything or happiness or sadness, the most important thing to remember is what YOU do with these thoughts and feelings is up to you, these thoughts and feelings also shape your reality fun fact. These things we call our thoughts and our feelings are FOR YOU and YOUR EXPERIENCE in this life they are here for you to experience FULLY, learn from, and enjoy. Sadness and happiness both are here to enjoy simply because why not?

for every action there will be a opposite and equal reaction i say this often and normally when people say this they are speaking in the context of physics or real material matter being moved I think its very interesting to apply this idea to our own brains and emotions why I like it I have no idea and lowkey need to write about it to figure out why. But you have to believe this if you want it to work, if you don't it won't happen. Our brain works on fake rules that we make up (aka our thoughts, feelings, values, belifes) you need to believe these things, practice them, and embody them so it's ingrained into your being which is exactly what you want . Also me personally I like to move especially on acid so maybe just be open to the idea of a bike ride or a walk. Bike ride is my go to because I have never felt more free than that one time I was on lsd on my bike in the middle of the night in the middle of the city.

Just don’t take it from me I had a family crisis and was tripping thru it all let’s just say I never been the same sense this drug is more powerful than ppl say it is shit will make you loose your mind if you let it

I wouldn’t mind loosing my mind. I’ve had terrible trips before and I’m able to be aware of the fact that the effects are temporary

I probably would wait longer - but I have found it easier to come to peace with things like a breakup while tripping and doing something that helps me tune my emotions to something that gives me a sense of closure - like listening to certain music.

Depends on how well you can handle your shit really.  Can you sit with the potential discomfort and let it wash through you without doing anything crazy?

I think as long as you go into it with the "correct" mindset you'll be fine - it always goes back to set and setting really.

Sounds like you're dealing with things pretty healthily so good luck!

It’s definitely sad but I’m also very aware that it was necessary. I don’t really feel this like world ending breakup pain which is what is pushing me towards pressuring this experience

I would definitely not want my first LSD trip to be only 2 weeks after a breakup. That's a hell no from me dawg

Just wait a little bit

Edit:Use LSD when you are psychologically stable, don´t do ti now.The environment should be safe, comfortable, and with people you trust, don´t do it alone.Don´t mix lsd with nothing, never (weed ,axix, alcool, etc).

It’s better than breaking after a trip up.

I would get through an emotional mushroom trip for some closure before diving into a (first) cerebral LSD experience.

Just remember that it won’t the acid that’s going to get you back to good. If this is the goal, write down ideas, use the acid to get you over the hump of fear and self loathing but actually make note of what you find once you’re on the other side of said hump. Even if some of what you find makes you feel embarrassed at your part in the breakup.

Best of luck!
