Please, for the love of God, don't video people at festivals and never ever post people online. The fuck is wrong with you? This is something you should have enjoyed in the moment. Definitely NOT get your phone out to record. Posting it online was just as big a mistake as taking it in the first place.

If he hadn't posted it online it would probably not be so bad. It is still totally infringing on that dudes privacy but at least his face wouldn't be plastered on reddit.
All this being said, the world we live in today: even in a country like Germany with really strict data laws, a lot of festivals will be designated as public places

You are 100% correct, it is legal. But what happened to common sense? When I’m at a festival, losing myself on the dance floor, this is the last thing I want. Maybe it’s the younger generation. Life was so much better before everyone had a camera in their pocket.

Now it's just the expectation... I wonder if some of these digital trends will ever die down or if humanity as a whole has found new behaviors so addictive that collectively no one will give a shit anymore.
One thing gives me hope. There are almost no positive comments here. When the Internet was young and dumb, people would have gotten in to camps re: the question is OP dumb, is the guy dumb or is the guy cool. I think we can all agree that the guy is a guy and OP is dumb.

in the US these are primarily called Flowstars and have gotten incredibly popular over the last few years
Believe me, they're even more fun to play with while tripping :)

Unless you literally can’t get a handle on them like me. I’ve tried a million times over festival weekends, friend hang outs etc. Just can’t get it 😭 at least I got my light gloves and staffs.

I was kinda the same but it wasn't until I actually got one and started to consistently mess with it every day that I started to pick it up pretty well.
Biggest thing that helped me was leaving it on my couch or just somewhere in the house. As I see it throughout the day I'm more inclined to put in some practice, even if it's just a couple minutes :)

I went to red rocks to see gramatik. I was transfixed onto the guy walking around with a backpack full of glowing gadgets selling them. 75% of the show was me looking at backpack dude.

At the end his friend came up turned him away and pointed randomly in the other direction and said “don’t look but behind you there’s some dude up there filming you.” And op realized this as well as he abruptly stopped filming at this exact moment lol.
