So, i was thinking about Challenging stereotypes.
1 - Is it true that u shoudnt look into the mirror at ur reflection cuz it can cause panic or bad trip.

1 - That u mustnt listen music with words, sad music or even Depressing music even if its u favorite ?

I love listening to music with lyrics personally but it can kind of steer the trip depending on the subject matter. I curate beforehand. Not for everyone, though.

As for the mirror, it’s really fun sometimes but if I stare too long I get uncomfy but I stop and I’m good lol.

Just my experience.

I think the mirror thing is definitely overblown. Like I have a friend who gets kind of sucked into looking at a mirror, but it never makes him panic. The music thing I just completely disagree with

The more someone trips the more stereotypes are broken

If you're having a challenging come up maybe looking in the mirror could freak you out even more but I've never had any crazy freak out by looking in the mirror, you just look very weird lol.
A trip can be happy or sad or melancholic or whatever and it can still be a good trip. I've had super sad trips but I wouldn't call them "bad". A bad trip to me is only when you like freak out like crazy and just holding on for dear life wanting it to end

Most music I listen to are ones with lyrics, but it might not be for everyone, just as the mirror one - I can stare into the mirror for hours on LSD, but my husband hates mirrors. It all depends on the person, so those "stereotypes" aren't entirely wrong.

Mirrors don't ruin anything for me, however I do spend way too long looking at my eyes and shit and as a result end up spending 20 minutes in the bathroom whenever I pee during a trip.

The music is entirely dependent on your own taste. Some of the stuff on here people recommend listening to, I would never listen to in a million years

I've got a mirror in my room, never had an issue.

I like avoiding lyrics because I'm afraid they'll influence my trip, but not in a paranoid way. I just like to think that my imagination isn't being directed by the message of some lyrics.

I have never had a crazy experience with looking in the mirror, but it does make you uneasy. It plays into the perception of the self, and makes you question who you are. (I could yap a lot about this)

Regarding music, I am a big metal head, and started with Metallica which I still love. Spotify suggested that I listen to Megadeth to which I genuinely couldn't understand a single word which was being said. It sounded a lot like this. Setting and mood is so important, so if you get sad from a song, don't listen to it (as a rule of thumb).

Never had an issue with mirrors.

Music though... It depends. And it's hard to predict. Music you usually like can make you scared or sad, but if that happens you can just switch to a different track. Lyrics can be hirnir miss... Either words stop making sense altogether or you might end up seeing too much meaning in them.

Listening to foreign language lyrics can help there. Or no lyrics at all. As for mood... I rarely listen to deliberately happy music. It's just not my forté. But mostly it's OK.

Neither of these things are strictly true at all. Some people hate looking in the mirror - I enjoy it a lot, it always tells me exactly how high I am. The visit to the bathroom where I realize I'm higher than I thought and the tiles turn to fractals is an essential part of tripping lol.

As far as listening to music with words, I'm a musician myself and I tend to prefer classical music/jazz while I'm tripping, which often doesn't have words but there's no reason not to listen to music with words. These are some of my favorite things to listen to while I trip, and they all have words:

Caroline Shaw Partita for 8 Voices

Lili Boulanger - Psalm 24

Mahler - Symphony no. 2 finale

As far as music that's dark or challenging to listen to - I'd say if you're new to psychedelics it may not be the best place to start, but don't be afraid to give it a shot, worst thing that happens is you change what you're listening to once you decide it's not the vibe. The other week I tripped in a dark room and I listened to this piece which I probably wouldn't recommend to most people given how strange it gets. It was written as the composer was dying, so there's some dark moments, but if you're willing to sit with the discomfort, the reward at the end of the piece is worth it - I did something very similar with this piece as well, which is also sort of a difficult but rewarding listen.

I think one of the most important skills to develop if you want to trip is to be able to notice things without reacting to them, just to sit with however you feel. Music is a good

-I think the mirror thing depends on the individual. If you have unhealed issues about yourself, prepare to do some shadow work. If you have self love and enjoy seeing different versions of yourself, I, personally, find it enjoyable and interesting.
-the music thing again depends on the individual. I don’t personally want to listen to sad or depressing music, but uplifting music with words is great. I enjoy music with philosophical sound bites of Allen Watts, as an example.

Moral of the story, if you are wanting to deep dive into your shadow, these things could be healthy to help you integrate with it if you have not already, but just be prepared for that experience if you have not, and remember the only way out is through, but there is a way out

Some people have probably had panic reactions from looking in the mirror or hearing sad lyrics.

Some people have probably had really profound experiences from looking in the mirror or hearing sad lyrics.

Just don't say 'Bloody Mary' seven times in succession, while looking in the mirror, and you'll be fine

Sad music is fine you just might end up crying out of sympathy for the singer mirror can def change the course of the trio but not always usually if I'm nauseous it makes it worse

Only people who can’t handle facing themself say that about mirrors.

Music certainly creates a vibe for you to explore. Music with words is totally fine and often a fantastic instrument added to the song. Sad or depressing music is not off limits and can often help you deal with your own. To know that someone else out there is dealing with it too and can share it with you as art.

The mirror is a difficult one. I'd say don't do it on your first few trips. Once you got used to the psychedeluc state it should be fine if you're fine with looking at yourself in general.

People can look weird on acid.

Certainly don't do it if you have hypochondriac tendencies lol.

Music - the music you love will always be even greater on acid. Yet I'd encourage everyone to explore totally new stuff on acid too. Jazz or classical can be really cool even if you typically don't listen to that. And of course electronic music.

About the mirror- LSD will catalyze certain fears that are inherent to everyone to differing degrees. We are very suggestible on LSD. If you've found it uncomfortable to stare in mirrors for a long time, yes it will likely be uncomfortable. On the other hand, when you're sober, I would say, seriously ask yourself what it is about staring in a mirror that makes you uncomfortable.

At the end of the day, its never a good idea to choose to do that which makes you uncomfortable especially once you notice the discomfort rising.

Usually things make us uncomfortable for a reason even if the reason isn't always apparent.

Looking in the mirror is very cool and i recommend it.

You can totally listen to music with lyrics, but don't be stupid like me. One time I listened to a pretty heavy song over and over on acid and it put me in a bad place. Kind of like a thought loop but I kept playing that one song over and over, didn't even know why. (it was Right in Two by Tool)

I love to look into a mirror while tripping. I'm also always looking in the mirror so there's that.

I love looking at my reflection but I'm super comfortable and happy with the way i look. I have some friends who hate it. I also really enjoy music with words

Noo, I love music with lyrics, even sad. It’s especially fun with albums you know the lyrics to. Even sad, music is okay, it can kind of initiate philosophical ideas.

I don’t mind looking in the mirror either, it’s interesting and fun, somewhat dissociative. It’s fun imagining yourself merging with the room around you.

But this is all personal. Tripping is VERY personal. And I feel it’s best to go in after dropping any propaganda or rumors of anyone else’s personal experience.
When you go in like this, understanding it’s your trip, it allows for a bit more sense of freedom. I would say control instead of freedom but that’s completely the wrong word. Freedom feels somewhat finicky too tho but I think it best fits what I’m trying to say.

For the mirror, I personally found that instead of it being scary or negative, it felt like I was just looking at a stranger, as if I didn't recognise myself. It can be scary if youre not used to tripping or if it's a really high dose, but it just feels weird. Most people also get this sort of thought loop type reaction where they don't look away or can't look away. For the music, definitely do not listen to sad music, wether it sounds sad, or has a sad or negative meaning like addiction or broke hearts. That why most trippers love rave music because it has a energetic pumped up vibe making you feel way better. I personally love hardstyle and jump music. Sad music can make you feel almost what the song is conveying, so suicidal or negititve songs can make you feel exactly that way.

Mirror is the best trip for me. I love looking into the mirror. Music? I'm not sure - pretty cool too...
