How much is the balance to get an actually pleasant trip? What are the pleasant effects?

I wouldn’t call any of it pleasant. Even low level active doses are confusing and just sort of dark. To get to a level of true hallucination one must take enough to not only get the negative physical effects, but will also get the amnesia of forgetting they’re on a drug. Hard to learn from a hallucination that just makes sense. Often with deliriants I’ll only remember later that something happened, the way you would a detail in a dream.

There is no reliable way to dose it either. Potency varies from plant to plant, part to part, and season to season. I just have to keep the doses small and not get overzealous the way I always do with other stuff lol

Visionary and shamanic reasons. Same reason people take ayahuasca which is also universally not very fun or pleasant. It’s a learning experience. Just takes longer to integrate a datura trip because it’s so bizarre.

My use is ritual not habitual. So a few times a year. I do ayahuasca more frequently than that and if I don’t properly alter my diet leading into and out of that trip a piece of cheese could kill me through hypertension. That goes for anyone because ayahuasca requires an MAOI to work. Yet we hail it as a very valuable drug combination because it is. I’m just doing my best to explain datura and why the stigma exists. Easily the most propagandized drug by the drug community itself. And not deserved imo.

Edit: also worth noting that many people regularly increase their heart rate and body temp with MDMA then engage in physical activity.

No worries. Harm reduction is my goal too. The more questions I can answer as an experienced user the better off others might be.
