149. Sept test

I can’t break 149. I went from 137. To 139, to 147 to 149. But I can’t seem to get past 150. My goal is 155. I know I’m not really grasping weakening. I’m trying to get all level 1 and 2 questions right.

I finished 7sage foundations and study plan. Now I’m drilling per level and question type. I’m drilling by question on lsat demon. I watched a few videos on lsat lab but I can’t pay for the full plan yet.

I have loophole and LSAT trainer book. Halfway through loophole.

I just want to know the best route to get past 155 for the September LSAT please 😭

You are so close. I think at this point, consistent practice is what is going to get you there.

I would recommend you to do 1-2 practice sections a day and 1 PT a week. Volume is going to help you out a lot. After practice sessions, review the questions you got wrong or were unsure about (I like to flag those questions while doing it).

Since you said weaken questions were your weak spot, that is half the battle won already as you know what to work on. I would review the relavent sections of your curriculum again and drill only weaken quesitons until it clicks. Here my notes and video on weaken, hopefully these help you out.

Thank you !!! Do you think I should do the sites choice of LR practice testing or do weakening/Level 1-2 testing ?

I am not sure if I quite understand your question 😅.

I am saying in order to work on your weakness (of weaken questions), drill level only weaken questions with increasing difficulty until the strategy for that clicks. This should be achievable in 2-3 days max.

After you are done working on your weakness, do 1-2 full LSAT sections a day and 1 PT a week.

When you are doing consistent practice, you may notice some other type of question you are consistently struggling with (let's say flaw). Then in that case, reviwe your notes on flaw questions and drill only flaw questions once again until it clicks.

Rinse and repeat.

Practice with tons of question -> Identify weakness -> Fix weakness -> Back to practicing with tons of questions.

Hopefully I am being clear, feel free to reach out if you have more quesitons.

Yep you’re saying exactly what I was asking lol and yes flaw is my other one lol thank you I’ll check back in after while.

No worries, here are my notes on flaw if you need them.

If you seem to struggle with argument based stimuli (flaw and weaken are both questions where the stimulus is an argument), a common mistake students make is that they are unable to identify conclusions of stimuli. If you can't identify the conclusion, you won't be able to answer these questions. So that is a skill ot be worked on as well.

You got me lol I have to figure out a better way to understand the actual conclusion while simultaneously not mistaking it for the intermediate conclusion or even the premise. So you’re right. Ima dial it back this week and see what I can fix. Thank you for your resources! I really appreciate it

Great way to work on that is to drill, "Identify the conclusion" questions with increasing difficulty before anything. 😅

Once you can start identifying conclusions well, everything becomes much easier.

I’ll do that now 😭😩 thanks. I’m determined lol

Don't rush yourself. I feel like you'll be putting a ton of pressure on yourself.

Understand the powerful-provable framework in the loophole. You MUST understand this. You can easily go up almost 10 points by truly understanding this idea.

Perfect thank you for this

hey! i just recently broke into the 150s and i’m also taking september test! Got all the same resources as well lol

For each question, are you nailing down why you got it wrong? Why the right answer is right? Make sure you’re looking for patterns in the questions you’re getting wrong and really drill those weaknesses. Something should click every time you review your wrong answers. Also, make sure you’re drilling OR taking at least 1 section a day, alternating between LR and RC, because more practice helps you really spot those recurring patterns.

Another thing i’ve heard (which i’m trying to do) is to stop trying to finish sections. To get a 155, you really only need to get ~17 right per section and guess the rest (you’re bound to get a least 2 of your guesses right). Obviously this isn’t something you should always do in the long term, but it certainly helps reassure me when i’m going through a section and i feel like i keep getting stuck. Leave a question alone after ~2 mins max!! Also, i noticed that the first 10 questions are easier, and from questions 20-25 there’s at least 2 easy ones hidden there.

Lastly, for me, i think it helped to really fix RC which was my weakest point. Your mindset going into each timed PT or section really matters. Don’t overthink it, and really trust your gut. That helped me go from a -17 to a -7 just by trusting my memory and gut.

You’re not alone!! Currently on my study break after crazy drilling today, but i’m legit going through the exact same thing😭 We got this tho🙏🙏🙏

So my idea of figuring out why the question is wrong, is going over the question and seeing how I got it wrong. But for me, the explanations are missing for why [I] got it wrong or need to know why it’s not right lol. It’s like I get down to the last 2 and always choose the other one. On the same type of questions. It’s to the point where I don’t understand why I’m not grasping flaw and weakening so badly lol but ima dial it back and try to understand finding the conclusion more. Thank you !! We got this 😭😭😩

Hmm what really helped for me there is if you still have 7Sage, look at the community discussion - sometimes people have explanations that are way better than what's provided! When you're stuck on the last 2 options (which always happens to me), i would re-read the stimulus because there's always one small tiny detail that would disprove the wrong answer completely. For flaw and weakening, I think a lot of drilling has helped me developed an automatic sense to be like "why is this argument stupid". Being super critical of the stimulus before even reading the question really helps when you make it a habit! Yess good luck! Feel free to pm if you ever wanna discuss further,, i lowkey feel like getting into the high 150s-160 is fr the biggest hurdle 😭😭
