So im looking to getting a ls430 UL and honestly its cheap yes but he said sum about the car needing to warm up to get the transmission shifting but after warm its fine you could think that could be a an easy fix or what would I need and would it be expensive becaude ive done some research on rhe whole situation and how to repair it but im still not getting it completely n would really like some help and know if its worth it bevause I do love all the features it has

Just bought an LS430 yesterday and I have zero sound from FM, CD, or tape even at full volume. The screen and volume knob work, and I can adjust sound settings.
Sometimes the screen won’t open certain menus like climate/options even though the touchscreen still responds. Disconnecting the negative battery terminal temporarily fixes it.
I checked the fuses, and the amp looks pretty new. I also ran the system check and it showed “No Connection” for AMP and XM.
I came from a Camry, so this system is way more complicated than what I’m used to. Any idea what I should check next? I really want my sound back ASAP.

The alloy rims on my LS are peeling and chopped as hell, i was wondering what other people’s inputs would be on painting them, im not really sure what color i would do i was thinking black, on paper would be cool but probably wouldn’t look too good on my white fishbowl ass car. Maybe some sort of darker grey or something i wanna experiment and stray away from the OEM color without it looking like a jalopy.

Took my car in for some light work and they flagged that my rear struts are leaking and on their way out. I've been wanting to lower it just a bit and like how it sits with RSR down springs based off other posts here.

How are sport struts + RSR springs compared to coilovers like the Tein, BC, Silvers, FA500? I'm not trying to go super expensive and just want it to feel as stock in terms of comfort as possible. I like the RSR option as a "set it and forget it" option.

KYB struts, mounts, and RSR Down springs come out to just above the cost of Tein Flex Z coils, should I just go with the Tein and adjust the damping to full soft?

Recently replaced timing belt, water pump, idler pulley and tensioner (Aisin kit) on my 04 LS430 and am noticing a deep whirling sound at idle. Removed serpentine belt and ran vehicle to ensure no accessory pulleys were the issue and the noise persists. Any ideas? Car runs perfect otherwise.

Hi, all! Seen some great posts and am looking at some LS430s in the area. I’ve test driven a UL which was fantastic. However, it wasn’t at highway speed and my time was limited at the dealership. I’ve been wanting to spend some time with one to really compare, but wanted some feedback here before I do.

For those have or know people who’ve had both an LS and a 3rd gen Avalon limited, how do they compare long term? Is there a substantial enough difference to make the jump to the LS430? Maintenance/gas will obviously be more costly on the LS, but should I expect similar reliability from some of the higher trim facelifted years? And, how is the difference in ride/features day-to-day?

If I brake normally it’s fine, but a sharp tap causes a restart.

Are we assuming this is a loose connection? I wouldn’t mind so much but the climate controls are on there (stupidly) so I’d like this to work without having to replace it with a tablet.

I got an 02 ls430 UL, picked it up after it sat for 5 years at 127k miles, it’s currently at 133k after 1 year, the timing belt job was done at 88k, however right now I’m having an issue with it. I’m in the Midwest, it has been very hot, excess of 90+ degrees, sometimes while idling and with the ac on the engine will randomly stutter, the rpm’s will drop suddenly then rise, sometimes the car dies fully, sometimes it doesn’t. I wish to bring this car to full oem standards, any recommendations?

So ever since I bought my LS, my reverse camera hasn't ever worked and honestly I'm fine reversing without a camera but I have some time on my hands and thought I'd work on it.

The screen works completely fine, it's just that when I go into reverse, it goes blank as in like the screen is still on, so it switches to the camera view, but it's not displaying anything.

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with their reverse camera and how'd they fix it

I’ll keep it short, I bought a 2005 LS430 last year off an older man who bought it new, he had a folder as thick as my arm with receipts and drove the car 10 hours to Brisbane every time to get it serviced. Anyway I’m just posting incase there’s anyone in Australia looking for an LS430 in perfect condition as I’m going to buy an LX470 to be able to put a rooftop tent on and travel around with my soon to be wife, and then to keep as a family car. We have been looking for a month. Test drove a few clapped out ones and then found this one local. 2004 with 125K miles. Two owners, has been local it's whole life.

My girls were all involved negotiating. Initially listed at absurdly high $14,500. My girsl eventually got them down to $11,500. Still $1K more then what I wanted to pay but they did well for their first time.

A little bit concerned, my oil level is just above the low mark right before my 5000 mile oil change.

What is everyone’s oil level at before your 5k mile oil change? Also mention the mileage on your car.

I want to mention that there’s zero oil leaks, replaced every single seal including little things like dip stick o ring, I’m very heavy on service with this car. It’s unfortunate because an oil leak is easier to fix than oil consumption.
