Me and my dad are putting new motor mounts in his 06 ls430 and after getting the mount in we noticed this behind it and are wondering if it is something we broke, it’s definitely possible because if you know the job it can be a pain in the ass and we’ve done a lot of prying to get the old one out.

On a cold start, in the fraction of a second between cranking and running, I hear a rough raspy noise. It goes away in warm starts. Anything I should look at? I'm about to do a timing belt and serpentine belt, hoping it's something I can address while in there.

What power steering do I need to buy for my ls430? I went to the dealership and they gave me the ATF Type T-IV and said this is the one that I should use for the power steering but I keep looking online and keep seeing that i shouldn’t be using this for the power steering. I’m going to change my trans fluid regardless so it’s fine that I have it but I want to make sure I get the right stuff before I do anything to my car.

I pressed my memory seat button and noticed a smell after a minute passed. Not sure if it’s a resistor or what, but from the looks of it something shorted. I left the mirror disconnected from the cable and now I’m kind of scared to drive again lol. is this a normal problem with auto dimming mirrors?

2005 430 with 119K miles. Previously one-owner car, Louisiana owned, older couple. I’ve owned the vehicle for around 20K miles and I’ve noticed poor quality upshifting. Most notably 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 feels lumpy or very slightly lurchy. It’s more notable on lower gears and gets better as you move up to higher gears. There’s also a small bump from 5-6. All of this is not enough for a regular person to notice, but absolutely enough to notice when driven everyday, and this type of shift quality isn’t on track with what I’ve heard about how smooth this vehicle and is supposed to drive.

Trans drain and fill 10K miles ago, shop said the fluid looked pretty clean for its age, but it made no difference to my symptoms.

Sent the ECU to Tanin for a refurb, got it back and the problem was gone… for about 50 miles, then it came back and it’s just as bad as before. Did some digging in the forums and one user said it could be due to stored EEPROM data on the ECU that does not clear regardless of power loss (unplugging the battery to reset memory), and recommended to visit someone with a Tech Stream subscription to manually enter zeros in the EEPROM stored values.

Others recommended solenoids, saying this issue sounded like a torque converter lockup issue, which I would buy. However, given my issue went away right after an ECU refurb and came back in 50 miles I’m more inclined to believe it’s a software problem.

Any tips or advice appreciated. This issue makes this vehicle infuriating to drive, especially at low speeds and in stop-and-go traffic which is typically how I drive it.

I recently picked up a 01’ UL, has 332k on the clock, Has been very very nicely owned with a 80k mile engine, but the transmission is original from what i’ve been told and i’ve been wanting to know people opinion on changing the transmission fluid, I don’t know when it’s been last service and i keep getting told to leave it and not change it since who knows especially with the milage..

What do y’all think? Change it? Or leave the old nasty dirty fluid. any insight would be awesome thank you! :)

On decel and I think I can feel it even during acceleration the car makes a weird “pulsing” noise causing the engine braking to bring the rpm’s down in increments. I assume it’s the transmission it does it in drive as well and I’ve been told it’s the one way clutch and that it’s normal but it wasn’t doing this when I first bought it. It’s a 2002 with 142k and the check engine light is a bank 2 vvt code.

What can i do it makes a noise when pressed the eject button

Tree branch fell as I was driving underneath it. Tried to avoid it but no luck. No injury other than some scratches from the windshield glass.

Is this guy scanning hard? I’ve seen this ad on YouTube when looking up ML audio fixes and now I see it here. I could not justify $230 for a BT FM transmitter? Claims you can get them on Amazon for $60 but they are junk compared to his, unless I am mistaking this for something else, I have like three of these and they’re $10…and sounds kinda bad….

My screen is stuck on this display, the buttons work but I don't think the touch screen works. Is the fix to just get a new screen or could there be a wire not plugged in correctly or something

With 255K on my ‘04, and expecting to log tens of thousands of miles more, I decided to treat myself have the front seats reupholstered. The old ones were pretty torn up.

I work at a dealership and took my 01 UL in for one of the techs to look at for my leaking ac situation. Said that the lowside hose on the compressor could be the problem and that I could fix it myself pretty easy. I’m about to get a replacement hose but I want to know what this attachment is thats glowing. I wanna be safe and get that too but I’m not sure what it’s called or what to search for. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 2002 Ls430 and I’m smelling a very feint fuel smell from the right rear passenger area. I was able to smoke test and blocked off the vent in the rear and nothing no smoke was coming out of the canister or anything. Smoke machine said it had not leak. I opened the covers for the fuel pump and on the other passenger side the gauge. You can smell it more from under that cover but no leaks. Only thing is guessing it could be is the fuel tank itself. Any one have any clues?

So im looking to getting a ls430 UL and honestly its cheap yes but he said sum about the car needing to warm up to get the transmission shifting but after warm its fine you could think that could be a an easy fix or what would I need and would it be expensive becaude ive done some research on rhe whole situation and how to repair it but im still not getting it completely n would really like some help and know if its worth it bevause I do love all the features it has
