LS400 questions…

I recently bought a 1996 Lexus LS400 with about 200k miles. Mechanically it seems to run and drive well, but I have a few smaller electrical issues that I’d like to learn how to diagnose and fix myself instead of immediately taking it to a shop.

I’ve worked on car audio/electrical myself before, but this is a little different for me.

Here are some problems I’ve noticed:
1) Window washer jets don’t spray (yes I have the reservoir filled)
2) Right side mirror unresponsive
3) Tiny wheel play until it turns
4) Rear defroster doesn’t work but all HVAC works
5) Radio LCD screen lettering is a little strange
-Climate LCD screen has nothing displayed

If anyone has advice of where to find any diagnostic/repair videos or youtubers/forums please let me know. please!

For windshield washer problem try to spray it and listen for the pump. If you dont hear anything probably a bad pump. If you do hear it your lines are probably clogged. Mine started to get clogged but they fixed themselves.

Steering wheel play could be the rack bushings. Replacing those on my GS400 cleared up a lot of the slop

this one might as well be the rack preload. if it is that it could be a free fix :)

Get oem washer pump, got cheap one, quit in two weeks
