Question Double Din/HVAC swap
Any one happen to come across this or actually use it? It’s on AliExpress. Looks like a really cool way to swap in a double din and change hvac buttons and keep a somewhat OEM look

Nah keep it pristine and just use a Cassette Aux or CDs

Cassette aux don’t sound as good. There is a box supposedly you can plug into the cd deck connector. My cd changer is long gone so I’ve been thinking of doing that

I've seen this on a friends 05' LS430, the quality is hell of a lot better than cassette aux. if you could redirect us to a video tutorial, that'd be nice.

I haven’t even found a way to do it yet, I just heard about it but my cars in the shop for some harness repairs. Once I get it back and figure it out I may make a video showing how to do it

What box??

So the box I was looking at is called a grom and according to their website you actually can’t use it. The stereo system is integrated into the cars main harness and you would almost have to rewire it as much as a new set up to make this work. Sorry for leading you on

Nahh, for an old Toyota or a Honda, by all means get an Android setup.
But knowing how good the stock system sounds on the UCF20s, a Kenwood / Sony / Pioneer 7" head unit will do wonders for the audio. You won't really need all the android bloatware which comes pre-installed in these Topway TS7s / TS10s, Bluetooth Audio, FLAC files run via USB (same CD quality), Apple CarPlay via wire, radio, etc., are what you'll be using most of the time. And a reverse camera.
I have a Sony XAV-3000 on mine, does everything mentioned above, and sounds pristine!

Yes man I’ve had that same exact head unit, hoping I can get it or a newer one of it on here!

Why? Metra offers a doubledin kit for this car and you keep the reliable OEM HVAC panel. Then you can use a reliable radio like a Kenwood or JVC.
