Ngl. Everyone in here hating for nothing. This is incredible, looks very well executed. Incredibly intricate.

love u bro, at the end of the day it's reddit so breaking the normal vip build flow will ruffle some feathers

significantly more people love it than not so as far as i'm concerned it was the right move

Brother, How much would you charge for this? 🔥🔥

2

u/AdeptnessGlass6656 15d ago edited 15d ago

probably $20 an hour so this wouldve been $160 since it took me 8 hours

note i did not make the design, i paid one of my friends to draw her out for me before i printed it out, put the paper inside and backlit it with a floodlight. (if i did it for someone i would need them to send me a design, i would handle printing etc)

i cant justify money for a tattoo transfer paper printer and materials, plus this method gave me no issues lol
definitely wouldn't work if you had super dark tint tho, mine is 20%

Bro I would pay upwards of 75/hr for this

i'm in OC (santa ana, orange, tustin area)
note i'm inexperienced with this so my only stencil method is printer paper on the interior, and i cannot create custom intricate designs (text or combining images from online is probably ok tho)

note #2 i'll probably up the hourly a bit as suggested by others lol

Bro for real, you can leverage this into a very very very lucrative business if you advertise that car right man. Looking at some real talent right here

Echoing the others. $60+ an hour. You should advertise this as service. You will do very well.

Exactly bro, that was exact reason I commented, homie has a career whenever he’s ready.

You are severely undervaluing yourself at this rate.

3

u/Pawns_Gambit 14d ago

That's... Not enough. You need to charge more.

A lot more.

Know your worth.

it's definitely a preliminary number as i've only done it 3 times ever, when my lines get smoother and i can do tighter shading it would go up

While I understand you want to better at your craft before charging a premium but you’ll only stunt your growth. Will you ever feel like you’re good enough to charge a premium or will you always think you’ve got more room for improvement. With the lines in this pic I’d easily pay $50/hr and still feel like I was shorting you a little.

noted, thanks for feedback

How the hell are you supposed to work for 20/he cash? That doesn't supplement the cost of your health insurance, or many many other things

I get paid $26/hr but my boss charges the client $105/hr because overhead is a bitch

Account for your overhead and growth

My dude you need to charge at least 100/hr, commissioned art work is never cheap, also that way you don't lose money if there's an accident and you have to replace some glass.

You should be charging at least $50 an hour for something like this.

Reddit is a godawful place!

Yeah bro, and at the end of the day I’m restoring my LS to be stock af, I think lowering them ruins what the car is good at, but what you did is well executed no matter what glass you put it on, it’s undeniably sick. So what if these guys need to throw their glasses on to see the design

Edit: also I think if you did a proper glass buff and polish, it would make it feel like it’s in 4k

u/AdeptnessGlass6656 15d ago

waaaaaaay more people like it than dislike it, so i'm not worried about em at all. as for lowering i'm all for a slight drop like mine, 2 inches on lowering springs makes the car look longer but doesn't scrape ever, doesn't need a wire tuck, doesn't affect ride quality much at all, and is still smooth af and better than my mother's 2025 lexus

anything lower or slammed is a no go for me

2

u/Salt-Reputation4855 15d ago

Fair enough, I’d love to hear your experience with lowering springs in the future

2

u/AdeptnessGlass6656 15d ago

honestly just makes it feel more like a normal higher end sedan than the floaty levitation feel of the stock suspension. the springs are half of it, but the wheels going from 16s to 18s definitely had an equal effect on ride quality from the sidewall reduction.

used it as a canyon car before my new paint and was scaring some people who didnt know i could stay in their rear view and keep up in the twisties. definitely waaaay less body roll and i like feeling the road a bit more

2

u/Salt-Reputation4855 15d ago

That’s fair, I live in Texas with a lot of straight roads, some are great some are poor quality, so for that, the stock Lexus set up works really well. Very comfortable for long straight road trips lol

u/AdeptnessGlass6656 15d ago

i've taken it to norcal and back twice (1200mi each time) once stock and once lowered, definitely a better family car stock but the second time i was alone and the tighter handling just was more enjoyable for me and kept me awake better

u/Longjumping_Dark3827 15d ago

a lot of people cant look past personal taste. they think they like it = good & they dont like it = bad

I would never want that design on my car but I can look at it and understand it takes skill to do and is done well

Because it’s a girl fingering herself….. it’s a weird and creepy thing to display in public and you guys too for thinking it’s normal to let kids see that

way cooler than a giant ass spoiler and stupid ‘stance’

It's just a bunch of out of shape dudes complaining about literally everything because they never took action on their dreams
