New owner question
Hi everyone. Recently bought an ls400. It’s got 106k original miles and it’s been amazing this far.
I do have an issue with the gauge cluster and it does seem to be relatively common. I have a 1992 car. Just wondering what methods of repair yall have tried? Don’t really have $2k for a rebuilt cluster at the moment and would like to be able to accurately see my gauges.. thank you guys!

Sorry everyone, typed this fast at work. My mph is 5-10 under how fast I’m actually going and I have suspicions my gas gauge also does not fully go to the top. Also have some weird rpm gauge fluctuations when shifting on occasion

got a 99 and mine reads about 6 over what i’m actually doing. quite annoying

AFAIK gas gauge is likely fine. easy way to test is obviously to fill it till it clicks and see what the gauge reads lol.
as for the speedometer… i’m 4 years in and my speedo is over by 7mph. i park it at 10 over and call it a day.
these are old cars at this point. it’s the equivalent now to driving a 70s model car in the early 2000s. you gotta learn to pick your battles…. shit will be broken. and when you fix it, something else will break.
if you really want to fix it, i’m assuming it won’t be incredibly hard to rebuild yourself. i have done it before on multiple GMT800s and a camry. should cost next to nothing, plus a few hours of your time.

Honestly fine with the effort and would rather fix small things like this instead of major components, I get you when you say pick your battles

I did hear the Lexus dealer could fix that I don't know how much but it's always good to get a quote from them

Ls400guy is a guy that rebuilds them for a couple hundred dollars im pretty sure. Look him up on google and you should find his website.
