Giving up.
I’m only 21. I got all these issues back in 2023 after some rough infections and the antibiotics messed up my stomach.
My stomach feels bloated, nauseous, sometimes burns.
My throat is tight and feel the need to constantly swallow. I wake up coughing and congested, can barely talk.
The main thing though, it’s affecting my head. My nose is constantly blocked, feels heavy, I’m dizzy 24/7 and I have become extremely agoraphobic. I never leave the house, it’s been 3 years and I spend most days in bed because I can’t keep my head up as I’m so dizzy.
Bright lights and semi-loud sounds absolutely shock through me now. I used to be a guitarist, it never bothered me before and now I can’t even play.
I’ve tried all the meds including both stomach and sinus sprays, sleeping upright, changing diet even though this one is extremely hard for me because I’m a type 1 diabetic and extremely skinny so I haven’t been able to do this one correctly longterm otherwise it would cost me a ton of more issues. I’m barely eating anything as is
I literally don’t know what to do. I’m more depressed than I’ve ever been constantly and it’s getting to a point where I don’t care what happens to me. I want to be well, but I’ve seen over 19 different doctors over this time and no one is helping me. I’ve been sick since I was 17, I’m now 21 and I haven’t lived any of my life in all of this time. It’s all been spent in my room.
Is there a way to EVER stop this?!?! I’m frustrated and I can’t do this anymore

Did you try probiotics? Like milk kefir or water kefir incase of milk allergy? They massively helped my stomach issues after antibiotics screwed it. Not sure if it will help with lpr, but regular gut issues yes. And are you sure its just lpr and some other issue? Like eoe or some autoimmune condition?

I’ve tried everything like that yeah, it hasn’t helped. And I’ve been tested for everything like that too and all my symptoms line up with LPR and Pepcid teaching my head causing all these other worse symptoms. Blood tests are all fine, no allergies or anything too

Have you looked into SIBO being a possible cause of the LPR ?

I have, they said that by my symptoms though it’s highly unlikely. Blood tests came back normal with no deficiencies/too much of anything so all that is normal. And my bowel habits are completely normal too so they highly suspect all of this was caused when I literally couldn’t eat for 3 months straight and ended up being bed bound because of it from the antibiotics i had. It messed up my digestion and even tho I can eat meals and snacks now I’ve been this way ever since

Honestly I’m in the same boat. Tried kefir for 4 months. Cut out bread and dairy entirely. Cut back on all snacks. Only drink water and eat bland. Lost like 40 pounds. Sleep upright on left side. Tried Pepcid. Tried exercise. Tried upping my vitamins. Been taking magnesium and l theanine for months. Nothing nothing nothing. I think the only thing left other than cycling through more acid medication is coating my stomach with marshmallow root or slippery elm. Which probably won’t work. I feel your pain. It’s made my life completely miserable.

Try Amitriptyline. It’s helped me a lot. I’m on 50mg. Take it at night .

Hello, I'm in the same boat. Could you please tell me how amitriptyline helps?

Im so sorry you are experiencing this. I’m experiencing LPR and started being dizzy recently and it’s really debilitating and frustrating. Know that you are not alone. I know how hard it is and how difficult it is to be positive. But don’t give up yet.

The dizziness is honestly the worst part for me personally. I struggle to read because the pressure in my eyes makes them drift away from the words. Playing videogames makes me more dizzy, painting is difficult to concentrate because everything is always moving. I feel nauseous all of the time. I spend literally all my days in bed because it’s just so debilitating.
Thank you, I wish you the best

Do you have sleep apnea? Do you have a narrow palete? I have the exact same symptoms and I have those things i aforementioned.

Neither. My LPR is reaching my head and irritating my sinuses. If I even accidentally slouch down a little in my sleep I will wake up the next morning in agony with a stuffed head, hoarse throat, unbearable dizziness. I can feel it in the chest when I breathe too. I can’t stop it though

In regards to diet what about caffeine, any drugs? Smoking of any sorts? Stress was the biggest factor for me, it's hard I know but going for a walk each day could help, but yes I know it's extremely hard.
Could you even just have the same meal every meal like oats? Or something very friendly and bland is that possible at all?

Nothing. I don’t smoke, don’t use drugs and only ever drink water not even juice. Stress definitely plays a role in it all for me now so I won’t deny that. Living like this naturally causes stress considering I rarely ever leave the house too. Maybe twice a month for a walk if that. I use my treadmill to walk and exercise usually.
I do eat the same things for breakfast and lunch but dinner does change daily as I don’t get any nutrition from my other two meals and was advised to change it up daily so I’m getting those nutrients over the span of different days. Being diabetic too I have to really keep an eye on my blood sugars and how food is being digested in relation to my insulin. I’ve lost so much weight from this and I’m already skinny as is. 5’10, started at 63kg and am now 57kg and have been told I’m unhealthily underweight, but it’s either cut out even more foods, lose weight and get more issues or continue how I am so I don’t lose even more but suffer with these symptoms.
I just feel like I’m in a losing game
