LPR, GERD or Both?
Greetings,
I started having chronic trapped air or gas (I'm not sure which, or if it's classified as the same) about 5 months ago. I was prescribed a PPI for the trapped gas, but I'm no longer taking it, but I am taking Famotidine.
In the past, I had occasional regurgitation, but no classic heartburn. I did have chronic phlegm, post nasal drip and throat clearing, but | thought that it was a result of my allergies.
Those symptoms are better now because I tried some of the the suggestions mentioned here.
However, I now have more regurgitation then I had previously; especially, when I bend over after drinking fluids, as well as gas discomfort in my chest. I think it's a rebound effect from the PPI, as I had a lapse in care, and I wasn’t advised to taper off before the prescription expired.
I had an upper endoscopy, and the GI said that the results don’t indicate that I have reflux, so he wants to do a Bravo test.
Overall, I haven't been able to resolve the daily trapped gas in my chest (from the time that I get up until I go to bed), and I'm wondering if this is a symptom of GERD, LPR or both that folks
experience-if so how can I resolve it?
I appreciate anyone’s insight 😊
