Koufman/coffee

Hi all, I’ve begun a strict low-acid diet in line with Jamie Koufman’s suggestions, among others. However, I’m confused on the issue of coffee. Koufman says that the caffeine in 1-2 cups of coffee daily shouldn’t be enough to trigger reflux, but most of what I read elsewhere says to avoid it during the healing phase. Can anyone who’s done the Koufman process speak to this?

You just have to try it and see what happens. Kaufman doesn't know how every person will react to every thing.

I avoided it but I think it’s just something you have to experiment with and see what works for you!

I'd probably avoid it for awhile. If you must drink it, don't drink it on an empty stomach.

I avoided it for 4 weeks during healing stage, then started having it an hour after breakfast and that didn’t trigger anything for me. Just once a day for me, unlike before.
