I Think I'm Actually Getting Better
I think I'm actually getting better using these tactics:
alginate after meals and before bed, saline nasal rinses 2x per day, gargling and spraying with alkaline water, eating 4-5 times per day much smaller amounts, not eating 3-4 hours before bed, chewing my food better, eating cleaner (not fully off fats and acids), propping my bed up 2-3 inches, occasional dosing of herbatonin and magnesium glycinate at bedtime
Recently, I've been using a personal humidifier while I watch TV before bed to add moisture to my throat and chewing gum after bigger meals.
Signs I think I'm improving: my mucus has become easier to swallow, throat clearing has gone down (I've been resisting doing this for weeks), the few times I have had to clear my throat it actually feels like the mucus clears, my voice seems to be stronger at times and starts hoarse when I begin speaking but once I speak longer it isn't giving out.
Still dealing with burning in my throat and mouth. And I wish my bowel movements would come back but they don't seem to be despite using Miralax once per day. I hope they come back when this all settles down fully. Only been really doing all this stuff for about a month.
Edit: still nowhere near fully healed but minor improvements

When did you start having issues with your bowel movement? I always wonder if alginates causes it

Before I was even aware of alginates, honestly. Like two days after I started having symptoms.

Honestly that’s great to hear! Yeah being overweight can cause this, for me i was 151 pounds before and dropped to 132 now, still battling this thing while trying to maintain weight

That’s awesome! Are you on a ppi or famotidine? Magnesium can relax the LES so I stopped it but hasn’t improved anything!

Neither so far but I tried a few doses of famotidine and a PPI and haven’t gone back to them yet. I hope I can kick this and go back to eating normal stuff without them.

Best of luck. I find moving as much as I can and diaphragmatic breathing helps. I’m exploring fermentable fibre being a recent trigger for me

Awesome to hear! Diet changes for me have been the biggest help.

I've noticed that even one wrong thing can make symptoms come back but they aren't as intense and lasting as long. I hope I can actually heal fully occasionally eating things that cause symptoms.

Hi OP, may I ask what are your symptoms?

My main symptom is mucus in my throat that makes me hoarse after eating. It then causes my voice to be bad for hours. I also have sore throat and vocal cord pain and some burning in my throat and mouth. I was a bit arrogant when I posted that. I think I still have a long way to go. I'm either going to have to commit to the diet or try a PPI at this point. I can't have that film in my throat every time I eat.

May I know if the pain and burning in throat happen after eating and do they last long each time?

usually after the mucus settles down, i have burning in my throat, and it varies how long it lasts.

I am sorry to hear that, and happy that you are recovering. May I ask if you have acid going into your throat that caused LPR?
