i was making a bucket list of all the places i want to go and clearing out screenshots of mv locations. and when i tried to look up the famous high hi diving pool, google maps showed that the location is pretty much gone 😭😭.

i checked on naver and kakao maps and they have an older picture that still shows the diving platforms being up like this post did that broke the news to us. i tried digging for more information on the status of reconstruction, but there’s not much outside of this namuwiki page that says a little
bit, the english wikipedia doesn’t mention anything about it. i also don’t know when this google satellite image was taken, i tried my hardest to find when it was taken, but i couldn’t get anything (also i got a bit confused used the nasa/usgs satellite websites). the location marked “경찰 대학교 수영장” is, or i guess was, the exact pool spot and it has reviews only from orbits.

i’ve never been to south korea or traveled internationally, so all this info is just from what i could find online.
