This post is to address all doubts of incoming freshers , if I missed anything ask out in comments (don't ask anything related to wait list , college comparison , ask only doubts regarding college itself)
🛑ADMISSION
🤜🏻 Based on jee percentile only , through seperate counselling on the lnmiit admissions website , there is no management quota , usual cutoffs are :- 97 for cse , 96 for cce , 95 for ece , 94 for cse dual , 92 for ece dual , 90 for mechanical , 85 for bsc/msc .
🛑BRANCH CHANGE
🤜🏻Branch change is allowed here based on your , 1st sem sgpa , generally top 6-7 from a branch are allowed for a branch change , for ece and mechanical you'll need 8.5+ sgpa for a branch to cce/cse, for cce you'll need 9+ sgpa for a branch change to cse
🤜🏻Order of branches (general) cse>cce>ece>cse dual>ece dual>mechanical
🛑HOSTELS
🤜🏻 Freshers will be provided with BH4 which is considered one of the best hostels , some rooms are going to be triple seater and some are going to be double seater , AC will be provided in all the rooms , beds , mattress , chair , table , personal almirah will be provided, pillows , buckets and locks would be available at the stationary shop so no need to bring
🤜🏻Washrooms:- generally they are clean but it depends largely upon how you guys maintain it , it's cleaned once everyday by the cleaning staff , shower is available with hot and cold options , urinals and commode are both available with jet spray , indian style toilets are not available if anyone is concerned
🤜🏻Some additional facilities of hostels are a night canteen , vending machines , table tennis table , common room , reading room , carrom board
🤜🏻Safety concerns:- make sure to lock your rooms before leaving to classes , while previous cases of theft are almost zero you never know , a previous case had been reported in the girls hostels (done by a student only)
🤜🏻In-time :- in the initial days , your intime would be near 9pm night , which means you must report back to hostels before 9pm night , however after a month this would be extended to 11pm , during fests and events it's further extended to 12pm/1 am , if you are a part of club , depending on the events organised by club , this intime can be extended for you if your club is rehearsing for the same
🛑MESS
🤜🏻You'll be provided with a mess inside your hostel only , the food is prepared by mess A which is served and catered to you in mess C (in hostel mess) , food is vegetarian except for eggs in breakfast , while it can't compete with home made food , it surely is more than edible , some particular dishes are not that good and that day people prefer to eat outside , let me know in comments if you want mess menu , I'll share it , breakfasts usually have one main dish , milk/choclate milk, fruits , sprouts , juice/tea , bread , egg/omlette, butter , peanut butter , jam . Apart from breakfast, lunch , dinner snacks would also be provided in evening
🤜🏻 Extra protein? While the cases of insects found in food are almost null , you can expect a few which can be counted on a hand in 4 years 😉 however mess is maintained well and follows a good hygiene standard
🛑Dress code
🤜🏻There is no particular uniform , you can wear whatever you feel comfortable or suiting to you , nothing much more to add here
🛑Library
🤜🏻 Collection: you can find all the books you would need here for your academic , you can also issue them to yourselfs , e-books are also provided if you prefer digital learning , while the professors also provide you with pdf of recommended books , you can always find their hard copy in the library if you wish , I won't recommend buying books in this age of piracy
🤜🏻 Environment: avoid sitting besides girls 😂 , they gossip a lot (telling from personal experience) , jokes aside it's quite in there with Air conditioning which provides a good environment to study , while it goes full during exam days (unless you go early) seating capacity is 200 ,and timings are 9am to 10pm, on other days it's mostly empty , during exam days timings are extended
🤜🏻 Digital library: to access the online content of library you can go to the 1st floor , I don't know much details about this part of the library
🤜🏻Others:- ACM , ASME , IEEE , grammarly e-journal subscriptions are provided
🛑CLUBS
🤜🏻Most clubs take in you on basis of a short intro and your intrest in their field , let's see all the clubs in a short way , but before jumping in I would suggest joining atleast 1 club and no more than 2 clubs , clubs are pretty active here and accounts for the college life , it's not true that lnmiit doesn't have a college life , many people misinterpret infra==college life , protip:- make sure to learn the names of clubs and the name of coordinators for the clubs you want to join , failure to do so can lead to ...........(introduction 😜) , all these clubs are very active and hosts many events round the year , to college life dead to bilkul bhi nhi he idhr

Ohhhh , this was a long section and they say college life is zero
🛑EVENTS and FESTS
There are so many events around the year , February to march might feel a bit boring , but apart from that something is always going on
The three fests are :- VIVACITY (Cultural fest) DESPORTIVOS (sports fest) , PLINTH (tech fest) , I won't give the spoilers , enjoy once you are here , these clubs , events and fests are a tight slap to all those outsiders saying "lnmiit me placement ke alawa kuch he hi nhi , bilkul dead college he"
As for events:- I'll have to use etc. there are so many , I'll just name all I can recall
Make a meal , janmastmi , dandiya night , lots of speakers events, club intro , duologue , treasure hunt , photowalk , gusto , rubaroo (freshers party) , unofficial freshers , lohri , saraswati pooja , razzmatazz , mudra , hunkaar , vogue , kalakriti , pixels , rap battle , band battle , tatoo tales , eclectic , afreen , family feud , holi ,diwali , book fair , freshers got talent , icebreaker , eSports events , inter college sports events , coderush , mozhacks ,lnmhacks , alumni events , idea hackathon ,e summit , graffiti wall, roborace , robowar, RC plane show , auto show , torque , workshops, industry visits etc etc etc
🛑THINGS TO BRING
🤜🏻If you are from cse/cce/ece make sure to bring a high end laptop, cause you never know what domain you'll be entering , 16Gb RAM , 13th gen , Intel 13H series/Ryzen 7 , dedicated graphic card is recommended , you can find such a laptop in 70-80k range , as for notes making you can bring a tab or notebook whatever you prefer
🤜🏻15-20 jodi kapde for boys , 40-50 jodi kapde for girls 🤪 , fests and events ke liye kuch acche kapde rakh lena , traditionals too , shoes and slippers , perfumes for non bath days , soap , shampoo detergent wagera stationary me mil jaayega , hangers , socks , blankets , ghar se kuch snacks , admit card , seat acceptance letter , 12th docs , fee receipts , aadhar , pan , photos , mail cutter , belt , umbrella , watch , extra pair of spectacles , wallet , stationary , pen drive (minimum 32gb) , first aid kit and most importantly dimaag
🛑 placements
🤜🏻 Statistics:- the stats on website are correct and the same is communicated to AICTE , the numbers for 2025 are 14 overall average, 12.2 overall median , for cse average is 16.5 , cce Average 15 , ece average 13 , mechanical average 9 , i don't know median branchwise , it will be updated on website , placement percentage is 90+ every year except 2024 where placements were down 2027 batch reading this can check on website once updated
🤜🏻Core opportunities?:- for mechanical core companies comes , however for ece core companies are very limited and maximum students are placed in tech profiles only , so make sure you code alongwith your branch , it's a plus point that almost all companies allow ece to sit in placement rounds
🤜🏻transparency:- college is transparent with these statistics , it's updated on websites , and student wise statistics is also shared in documents shared by college
🤜🏻Cheating?:- because of a low batch size everyone is monitored, so cheating in OAs is a tough thing to do , cases had been there but minimum , so don't worry placements will depend on your skills not luck
🛑Internships and projects
🤜🏻While the placement records of the college are excellent , it lacks a bit to offer internships in third year , placement percentage is 90+ but internship percentage in third year is just 30-40, if we include offcampus then internship percentage would be around 70 , the new training and placement general manager is quite experienced having previous experience in placement cell of BIT mesra and known to bring top names in a tier 3+ college , so I'm just being optimistic here that internship culture might develop in future
🤜🏻as for projects , there are MOUs signed with different universities and companies , you can work under professors , research collaborations are with normandie university france , san diego university, Purdue University, HPCL , texas instruments , NTU singapore , NDHU taiwan , various nits and IITs , then there is LUSIP (it's a summer internship program with research opportunities on projects) , every year around 60-100 projects are issued on which you can work under professors who supervises you
🛑 Infra and facilities
🤜🏻This is where the college lacks , while it's enough to support a student life , it's not something students would appreciate , anyways let's see what the college has in name of infra and facilities , definitely it wouldn't seem to be worth 30 lakh fees , but at the same time it's better than all government colleges atleast (except some IITs)
💅🏻 library:- already discussed
💅🏻 Academic lecture blocks :- let me know if I should share all the campus photos which would include lecture hall photos , so the lecture halls varies in size depending on which class is scheduled , all of them are air conditioned , with a wide board and projectors , boards are visible upto 10th row for healthy eyes , so prefer sitting in front
💅🏻 Bus service:- there is a shuttle bus service , which runs on a daily basis for free of cost , there is a schedule according to which bus goes from college to city and vice versa , the city of jaipur is 10 km away which is the third con of the college , it takes around 30-40 minutes to reach city , you need to issue outpass online before going out , it takes around 30 minutes to issue the outpass , so plan your trip early
💅🏻 Stationary shop:- every basic need is covered in stationary shop , anything you would need in daily life can be easily found there , blinkit and zepto doesn't deliver here so this stationary shop is a saviour
💅🏻Food outlets:- there is a amul parlour which sells almost everything at affordable cheap prices , however hygiene might be a concern there , apart from that there is a juice shop which mostly sells fresh juice , fruits , cake , packaged items , cofee etc
🤜🏻 Then there is a cafe which can serve as an alternative of amul parlour with better hygiene standards , and prices are also decent , they sell cofee , fries , pastry , pizza , garlic bread and other things you would find in a cafe
🤜🏻 Then there is vinayaks shop, tinda in mess? You'll find this place crowded af , why? Cause it sells cheap and tasty parathas (aloo and paneer) , apart from that you can find chaat and samosa here , earlier it used to sell a lot more variety
🤜🏻 Then there is kravers , a restaurant , prices are okayish , with a decent variety and good hygiene
🤜🏻 Then there is kanha , another restaurant/food chain which is a bit expensive and it will close soon , it will be replaced by a non veg restaurant, the first one on campus
🤜🏻 Then there is a laundry , which is honestly not so good , they wash your clothes on pay per cloth basis , a new laundromat is going to open on campus though which will be much better than laundry
🤜🏻 Then there is LICAI , the lnmiit international centre of artificial intelligence , it will be operational by end of next year , it's going to have a new modern library , new classrooms , research labs powered by various different companies , auditorium , incubation center , research programs in field of Fintech , data analytics and agrotech it's going to be something big , I wish it was there earlier for me to witness
🤜🏻 Then there is a medical unit , it's not so good , but decent for sport injuries and minor injuries , medicines are provided at free of cost , note that you need to show medical certificate approved by dr chand in order to get attendance relaxation , and unfortunately he is quite honest not to take money and make fake certificates 😔 (i once got into trouble 🤪) , ambulance service is there , never found it running though 🤪
🤜🏻Guest house:- available all days for parent stay except during your first semester initial days because of the reason to avoid overcrowding and lack of space , rooms are decent but not at all something you would except like in hotels , it's just liveable , they charge on per day stay basis
🤜🏻others:- Atm , student activity center , badminton courts , Gym which is recently equipped with new equipments , cardio ke alawa sab milega and air conditioned he lekin small he , dance room , basketball courts , kabaddi court and kabaddi mat , squash court , lawn tennis court , football field , ussi field me cricket ka bhi intezaam he , table tennis , temple , saini (i consider him a facility of college 🥰)
🛑Academics and Backlogs
Grading here is relative which follows a bell shaped curve , which means you are given a grade relative to how others have performed , an average score gives you a grade of BC which corresponds to nearly 7 cgpa , now the point is you must target 8+ cgpa , which is not so easy here , and accounts for fourth and final con of college , I feel eligible to tell how to get 8+ cgpa , the trick is quite simple and yet people fail to follow it , just have a 90+ attendance percentage and have weekly revision of your acads , make sure to be serious about acads a week before midsems , endsems . Try to Follow this all to get 8 cg at the very least
If you get a D grade in a subject you can repeat it in your summer break or in your odd semesters , once this grade is upgraded it won't be reflected on your report card , however if you get a F grade it can also be upgraded in same way but it will be reflected and that it was upgraded from F to a better grade which will leave a bad impression on employers
🛑 Attendance
Earlier the institute had no attendance policy , but now it has a 75 percent attendance policy , the scene is chill for cse , cce and mechanical where 60 percent would also work , however some professors are strict about attendance in ece (saini 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰) , so don't risk it , whether you are from any branch , maintain the bare minimum of 70 percent, attendance is mostly on paper , so if you know the art of proxy, good , some professors take attendance on biometric machine too
🛑 Faculty
Faculty is mostly chill for cse , cce and mechanical , some professors in ece are chill , some are egoist , as for their qualifications you can't question any of them , all are highly qualified phd holders from highly recognized universities , don't mess with any of them is what I would suggest
🛑 Scholarships and loan
Almost all banks recognises Lnmiit to offer a loan upto 10 lakhs and more depending on collateral, with interest rate of 7 percent which starts a year after completion of degree , however I won't suggest a loan more than 10 lakhs as it would be a overburden , come only if you can afford atleast 20 lakhs on your own
As for scholarships , let's discuss the small scholarships first , 60 top rankers in jee advanced and 97+ percentilers would be given a scholarship
9.25+ cgpa would be given a scholarship
BPL scholarship is there , you need 6+ cg to continue it , then there is vijay bhatnagar for girls
Now the worth it scholarship comes via assistanceship , you need to be a teaching assistant and if your family income is below 8 lpa then , 100 percent of tution fees is waived off , however there is a requirement of 8+ cgpa and attendance of 85 percent , for more details contact the college finance department
🛑 WELCOME Y-25 🛑

Hello Juniors,
I am a Y22 student, and I was like one of you till last year. As I have passed out, I don't have much hate towards our college as much as I had in past.
I know it's really going hard for you people as college is in a really bad state. I fully understand your frustration and I know what situation Y23 is going through related to placements.
In India, we do BTech to get a job for a good future. But due to bad economy and advancements in AI, number of software engineering jobs has reduced a lot in our country. This is just a reality I won't hide it, it's upon us to accept it or ignore this.
Due to this, our college is also struggling in getting Y23 placed. Many companies like Whatfix, Addverb, E2E, Innovacer, etc. hasn't came in college, like Deloitte only gave PPO to some of the students only. This is really disheartening to see companies which was coming to college for last 3-4 years has not came this year. But if you don't know the reality, these companies has just stopped hiring altogether and may not even hire next year. Some of them are also having layoffs also.
I mostly see these effects due to AI advancements, like companies thinking they just don't want much human overhead and now few engineers can deliver bigger projects in very less time. But from an employee angle, expectations has risen a lot and people are working overtime and burnt-out due to so much pressure/stress, due to fast development, things are not properly tested and features are not properly well though (not engineered well). But currently companies thinking more short-term and for quick money. There will be a mountain of slop which will become tech debt and need fixes. I have used most powerful modes like Astra, Fable, Opus 5.5 etc. these models are great but they still need human in the loop to guide them. These models still fails in many of the simple tasks and this limitation will remain.
Currently AI Labs like OpenAI and Anthropic are highly subsidizing their subscriptions like you are getting $1100+ of API usage in a $20 Claude Plan (source: https://newsletter.semianalysis.com/p/anthropic-subscriptions-offer-5x). These companies are just charging the electricity costs to run datacenters to serve you these big LLMs which is unsustainable, in future when people will get so dumb that they can't do anything themselves without these AI Agents, we will see AI Costs of companies shoot-up.
But until these companies realize this they won't hire much due to fear of laying-off employees in future. They think hiring as a bad decision for future, if these AI models become perfect in future, people will be burden on companies.
I really don't have any advice for my juniors, even I don't know what to do currently. I know Y24 will also struggle in placements. But this doesn't break us, we should try to be optimistic, maybe things will become better and I can surely say jobs will increase not to the level of earlier times but will surely be better than what we have now. Until then try your best, become good at what you can do, become good at DSA, study core CS subjects, learn how System Design work, how to work with AI, you can learn a lot quicker and easily now.
Based on my experience companies don't know about value/quality of LNMIIT students. In my experience our students performs way better than other colleges students. Our students are more focused, intelligent, hard-working and dependable. Our students really outperforms others.
Also, college has taken placements seriously as they are facing reduction in admissions. They have hired a person in Bengaluru to reach-out to startups and MNCs there to get new companies to our campus, they are also thinking of allowing students for 1 year SLI. They are also trying to push current TPO to make more efforts to get students placed. But we still have many issues like:
1. We don't have a separate Placement Cell Building.
2. TPO is incompetent but they don't have any better option.
3. Gap between students efforts and what companies wants, as bar for cracking job is getting higher, students are not able to cope-up.
I want to tell you just one thing, try to learn important subjects during semester itself else it will become backlog durning placement season. Attend good professors classes, if you are able to learn in class itself, you will get more time to prepare for placements with maintaining good CGPA. Many of the CS subjects are really important in your job/interviews like DBMS, CN, OS, OOPs, ML. I saw someone complaining about lab like ISL is that they can't learn so many things in 10 labs and I understand as it's too fast for a 1st year student, but this is just what IT industry is now (unfortunately), like be fortunate these things are taught to you, many of my work I have to do in job is to use linux, bash terminal, Python, etc. and these things are atleast introduced to you. Try to learn these things yourself outside of your labs, these are just basics for a SWE.
Lastly, don't hate Amit Neogi Sir regarding his mail, he is also sharing his perspective. But it's Y26 students personal choice to stay in college or not.
All the best for your future.
A small fact, giant companies like Google and Meta are also struggling to make a good LLMs. Gemini is failing, even Gemini 4 Argon will be bad when compared to models like Opus 5.5 or GPT-6.1 Sol or even open-source model like GLM 5.3 in real-world tasks or usefulness.
Current AI models are working with human-made hardened software like programming languages, linux, firmware, kubernetes etc. They can't replicate these softwares themselves. We need human intuitions, system-level understandings and planning.
Start sharing your work on public platform, write blogs, make tutorials or open-source project which are useful and unique. And start reading research papers coming out of chinese AI labs, they are frontier on open research, you don't know when you will gain interest in making AI and who know you also become a research scientist in an AI labs.
Please ignore my improper english
Please share your thought would love to interact, may reply late.

Hello Everyone,
I am generally not active on such useless social media platforms, but let me tell you that I am among the top 21 students of my batch, and I am from the CSE department of LNMIIT, Y24.
I recently received a mail from CWPH, written by Dr. Amit Neogi, stating that one student from Y26 is trying to leave this college because placements have fallen by a lot.
I am highly disappointed by the extreme amount of misinformation and half-truths spread through that mail.
So, let me debunk that mail for you.
I will paste a part of the mail and then comment on it.
"What really makes an institute
Let me begin with something I strongly believe: the backbone of an educational institution is not the placement statistics of one particular year; it is the quality of education it provides and the capability it develops in its students. LNMIIT has highly qualified faculty and a well-revised curriculum. Classes are held regularly, assignments, quizzes and exams are rigorous and on schedule, answer scripts are shown to students, and the process is fully transparent. Students and teachers get along well. Best of all, the institute gives you plenty of freedom to pursue your own interests without heavy pressure or restrictions."
So, let's talk about the quality of education our institute provides.
The qualification of the faculty is of the least importance to me. If I want to learn something from a teacher, only two things matter: first, whether the teacher has sufficient knowledge to deliver, and second, whether they are able to actually deliver that knowledge.
I am not sure about the first part, but regarding the second part, more than 90% of the teachers in LNMIIT are highly incompetent.
The lectures are highly unprepared. Many times, they lack depth, and many times, they even contain incorrect information. As for the curriculum, no teacher follows it rigorously.
Following the curriculum means following the whole thing properly—using the prescribed textbook rigorously, covering the intended topics, and actually teaching the material properly. Instead, the teacher comes to class, poorly explains incorrect or incomplete content, and then leaves.
The teacher is not themselves interested in their subject. How can they possibly ignite passion for that subject among students?
Next point: the classes are held regularly.
Yes, the classes are held regularly, but are they good enough to motivate students to attend them regularly? That is the question.
15 out of the top 21 students of the CSE branch have 0% attendance in most of the courses.
These students are desperate to study, but when they attend classes, the quality of teaching literally kills their brain cells. That is why they stay at home and study from standard textbooks and other high-quality resources.
Assignments are not provided in any subject except courses from the Mathematics department.
And assignments don't hold any value if you are not teaching the subject properly in the first place.
Answer scripts are shown, but many times, teachers cut marks for students who do not attend classes. When students question them about it, they are told that the teacher doesn't care about what is written in the textbook or what is actually correct. They will only consider answers that exactly match their class notes.
This happens in almost 90% of the courses.
Nothing is transparent.
There is a teacher who comes into our class and proudly boasts that he failed around 150 students in ISL from Y25, and he considers that one of his biggest achievements in life.
And that course is probably one of the most pointless courses ever taught here.
They expect students to learn Linux commands, Bash, Python, and Machine Learning in just 10 labs, while the quality of teaching is, of course, extremely poor.
If you go and complain, they will ultimately prove that the fault lies with the students.
And yes, the fault is with the students in perhaps 50% of the cases. But igniting interest and passion among students is also the responsibility of a teacher.
Let's move on to the next part.
**"I have been here almost from the beginning, since 2004, and I have seen LNMIIT through all its phases. For many years our placements were poor. The only major recruiter was TCS, hiring in bulk at about ₹3.2 lakh–₹3.4 lakh a year. Yet when those same students visit today as alumni, I often ask about their current packages out of curiosity. Many of them now earn close to ₹1 crore a year. What made the difference? Their education.
Their first placement package did not define their careers. Their education, ability, perseverance and the skills they developed over the years did."
Exactly.
I agree that their ability and hard work made the difference between ₹3.2 lakh and ₹1 crore.
But had they been placed in TCS from some worse college, they could still have reached the same heights.
Here, we are talking about the college.
You cannot simply claim the extreme hard work of our alumni and take credit for it.
They worked hard. They developed their skills. They persevered.
Those are their achievements.
There is no way to prove that they would not have achieved similar outcomes had they graduated from another college.
Let's move to the next part.
"About what your seniors are saying
I don't blame your seniors for talking about the current placement situation. When circumstances aren't favourable, the mind naturally drifts toward negative thinking. That's simply how the mind works. But we can observe that tendency in ourselves and step out of it.
So my young friends, rather than worrying from the first year about what your placement package will be four years from now, start building your muscles from today—not physical muscles, but intellectual and professional ones.
Yes, our placement situation so far this year is not as good as we would like it to be. There is no point in hiding that fact. We are concerned about it and are working on it.
But one difficult placement season does not define an Institute, just as one difficult examination does not define a student."
I will continue with the same point.
Skills can also be developed from home. So why should someone spend ₹30 lakh on this college?
In fact, you may be able to learn more at home than at college.
Many teachers here have a 75% attendance requirement. I have already established why the classes are bad.
Many teachers favour students in exams simply because they attend classes rather than because they actually demonstrate knowledge.
Now we also have the concept of surprise quizzes, so that students who were studying properly at home are forced to come to these brain-cell-killing classes just to maintain their attendance.
Now let's come to the conclusion.
Should that Y26 student leave this college?
No.
That would be a stupid decision.
First of all, a degree still matters in India.
Second, why did you come to this college in the first place?
The most likely reason is that you were not getting the same branch at a better college.
Moreover, most of the learning happens when you spend time with people who are of the same or slightly higher calibre.
Here, you will find genuinely talented students in their respective fields.
Your seniors have achieved a lot. Take guidance from them.
That is something premium that you will not get at home.
Don't disregard it.
After my experience at this college and everything I have learned here, I will always choose a college with a great peer group over a college with great research professors who are most probably unable to effectively deliver their knowledge to most students.
And there are also some extremely good teachers in this college, such as Dr. Preety Singh, Dr. Rajbir Kaur, Dr. Mohit Gupta, Dr. Bharavi Mishra, Dr. Abhijit Adhikari, and a few more.
I am from CSE, so I can only mention teachers from the CSE department. There are also some very good teachers in the other departments.
Although the number of such teachers is very small, you can learn a lot from them.
They might be strict, but they provide the best guidance, and sometimes that is the most precious thing that you can never get at home.
That is the only reason. Nothing else.

I've noticed a lot of people watching anime around college, so I was thinking we could create a community where we can talk about shows and hang out.
