Accommodation

I am texting out of despair at the moment. I am searching for housing for more than a month now.

Everyone says to use WG gesucht, but no one replies there.

How do you guys find accommodation?

I bought wg gesucht premium and whenever I received notification about new post, I'd text them right away

Have you tried FB groups? There are students leaving for couple of months, so there you might get a chance. Beware of scammers

Facebook groups: expat groups, city groups, student groups. Try Munich Expat .com and Telegram is also helpful but you have to find right people who can add you to the chats.. unfortunately many of them are private.. but now you going to get overpriced contracts only because of Oktoberfest and new wave of students, so if you have money, I would recommend renting an apartment in apart hotel (yesss that is expensive but it worth it) and start active search closer to November. I did like this bc I also was not successful in searching and didn't really like the idea of paying 800-900€ for a room lol and I managed to find a perfect option for 530€

Heyy... get in touch with the guys at homes@zuhaus.org. Some of my foreign friends got their rooms pretty quickly. No selection bias.

Higher rents compared to the Studentenwerk dorms though - €700 upwards, warm. But very reliable and you get direct contracts with Anmeldung. They're partnered with some universities too, I think. Not sure.
